Funny emotion, nostalgia. Seems a bit lazy to wallow in the distant past but when I heard the Theo Kottis track in the summer (which is a recent release by a bloke of about 30 I reckon - dunno ) I was pitched back to a time in the early 90s when you could drive round London at 4 am listening to discordant house music and old US garage on the way back from some adventures. I wanted to try and recreate that feeling not so much with the music from that time (long forgotten) but some tunes which give a sense of the sound of that era. Most of the tunes are modern I think. No idea if it works or not but the process was cathartic.
