Homegrove changed the title to Superhero/ Star Wars-discussion COOL KIDS ONLY .

Fantastic! So, I hadn’t seen a full superhero movie since Bale was Batman, just as an fyi. I watched The Snyder Cut, Wonder Woman 1984, and Batman vs Superman in that order. Some takes…

  1. The Snyder Cut was pretty bad. The dialogue and music were both atrocious. Gal Gadot is the worst actor/actress I have ever seen. #1 all time, no hyperbole. Still, I appreciate that Snyder at least tries to take the subject matter seriously, as opposed to filling it with soy bants like the MCU would have. Also, Ben Affleck is pretty good as Batman. Better than Bale for sure. I also enjoyed the Steppenwolf villain. He looked cool, and I like that Snyder actually had him beat the absolute shit out of the hoards of women. He punted that one chic and her horse to the 1 yard line. And it was great seeing that guy from Terminator 2 as Cyborg’s dad. Wish he was in more stuff. 6/10
  2. WW1984 is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. How this was seen as anything other than a cruel joke is beyond me. There wasn’t a single fucking song from 1984, let alone the 80s as a decade, to be heard. Again, Gal Gadot is the worst actor/actress in history. Not even the great Pedro Pascal could save that complete abortion of a film. This film absolutely got a grant from the DC transit authority, or something, because at least 1 hour of screen time is filled with trains slowly passing by. 3/10
  3. Batman vs Superman was actually pretty good. The plot was easy to follow, which seems impossible for this genre of film. Again, Affleck was great as Batman, I didn’t mind Superman guy whose name I can’t remember, Jesse was good enough as Lex, and Gal Gadot was once again atrocious eye candy. 7/10

In summary, the Snyder films were undoubtedly for baby, but still not that painful. I can’t stress how much better these films are when they aren’t filled with gods on earth talking like a bunch of Best Buy employees on their break, aka every MCU film. I am sad that the Synder DC universe has come to it’s end. After seeing these and doing some reading I think I would have sat thru the Batman movie that Ben was going to write, direct, and star in. In spite of my best instincts I really liked him as Batman. And while Snyder is a total wack job, I do think he is perfect to direct these types of movies. He can film a logical fight/action scenes, something Christopher Nolan was never able to achieve.

Nick is depress after being confronted by undeniable truths. I feel for him.

‘Invincible’ is worth a watch if you havent already.

zackster wasn’t aimed at you mate, I’m just pissed that this is gonna turn into a Star Wars thread with people turning on Marvel saying it’s for kids, whilst windmilling their light sabers 😭

Have just read that HBO wants to take over the whole Snyder/Afleck DC world. That is a total riot. If the fans managed to bitch and moan this into existence, all I can say is hats off!

nicksneddon WW84 is a terrible film

Stunningly bad. It sucked in a way I have never seen before. Very unique.

We watched Justice League (Snyder Cut) in two sessions. For a 4 hour movie it flows remarkebly well.

Did not love it, did not hate it. Can understand Zach’s opinion that Snyder makes the comic book-movies better if you want them to be like the comic books. Marvel just happens to make better movies for everyone, including people who don’t read comic books. I prefer the MCU.

Homegrove if by everyone you mean soy boy beta males, then I totally agree.

Just watched 4 hours of justice League. 🙄

Wife and I watched our 5/23 MCU-movie tonight and unfortunately it was The Incredible Hulk. Jesus fucking christ how bad that was. And not having seen it before I’m so angry for how unnecessary watching it was in the series. I thought it was the origin story for the Hulk, instead they laid all that out in the opening credits, and the rest was just Edward Norton not having any chemistry with underperforming Luv Tyler, intermixed with some terrible, terrible CGI fights.

Just got caught up on Falcon & The Winter Soldier. I like it, but can’t figure out who the big bad is yet, or where this will ultimately lead. All I’ve really nailed down for this one is that the new Captain America is a used douche.

zackster we got it as a freebee and I still felt robbed. For the first hour or so its incomprehensible.

Her dream is to bring her dead boyfriend back in the body of someone else. Why not in his own etc etc etc

apyssjw Her dream is to bring her dead boyfriend back in the body of someone else. Why not in his own etc etc etc

LOL!!! I could write about that decision for pages upon pages of this thread. I absolutely love how she waited for like 100 years to get piped down by this dude, and then she just leaves him on the street at the end. That movie was completely insane. I will give it this: it was a truly unique experience.

Plenty of the story just didn’t make sense, it was an absolute mess

MCU-movie 6, the first Thor. Seen it only once before, now that ten years have passed I still don’t like it. It’s only needed to set many of the characters, as a movie it’s not good. Tom Hiddlestone as Loki is always wonderful though, it will be interesting if his own show will be a case of too much good thing is bad.
