‘Invincible’ is worth a watch if you havent already.
Superhero/ Star Wars-discussion COOL KIDS ONLY
zackster wasn’t aimed at you mate, I’m just pissed that this is gonna turn into a Star Wars thread with people turning on Marvel saying it’s for kids, whilst windmilling their light sabers
WW84 is a terrible film
Have just read that HBO wants to take over the whole Snyder/Afleck DC world. That is a total riot. If the fans managed to bitch and moan this into existence, all I can say is hats off!
nicksneddon WW84 is a terrible film
Stunningly bad. It sucked in a way I have never seen before. Very unique.
We watched Justice League (Snyder Cut) in two sessions. For a 4 hour movie it flows remarkebly well.
Did not love it, did not hate it. Can understand Zach’s opinion that Snyder makes the comic book-movies better if you want them to be like the comic books. Marvel just happens to make better movies for everyone, including people who don’t read comic books. I prefer the MCU.
Just watched 4 hours of justice League.
Wife and I watched our 5/23 MCU-movie tonight and unfortunately it was The Incredible Hulk. Jesus fucking christ how bad that was. And not having seen it before I’m so angry for how unnecessary watching it was in the series. I thought it was the origin story for the Hulk, instead they laid all that out in the opening credits, and the rest was just Edward Norton not having any chemistry with underperforming Luv Tyler, intermixed with some terrible, terrible CGI fights.
Just got caught up on Falcon & The Winter Soldier. I like it, but can’t figure out who the big bad is yet, or where this will ultimately lead. All I’ve really nailed down for this one is that the new Captain America is a used douche.
Kells77 he’s the big bad, or will be anyway
nicksneddon That makes sense.
apyssjw Her dream is to bring her dead boyfriend back in the body of someone else. Why not in his own etc etc etc
LOL!!! I could write about that decision for pages upon pages of this thread. I absolutely love how she waited for like 100 years to get piped down by this dude, and then she just leaves him on the street at the end. That movie was completely insane. I will give it this: it was a truly unique experience.
Plenty of the story just didn’t make sense, it was an absolute mess
MCU-movie 6, the first Thor. Seen it only once before, now that ten years have passed I still don’t like it. It’s only needed to set many of the characters, as a movie it’s not good. Tom Hiddlestone as Loki is always wonderful though, it will be interesting if his own show will be a case of too much good thing is bad.
Whats up?
At first I wasn’t that into Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but boy has my opinion changed. They deal with some pretty heavy issues here, and the symbolism at the end of episode 4 was 5/5.
Found this an interesting watch:
Homegrove it’s so good
Love this Dude.
I just had to take a walk to calm down
Only reason I know about UFC is because of James Ellroy’s books.
Are you two lads having a beta off?
LOL @ Si trying to get in on the Alpha/Beta bantz!
Did you beta hannu off, zacko?
Not been totally on board with FATWS so far but ep 5 was class.
(there’s a post credits sequence for this one)
Ive loved it, episode 5 is the calm before the storm I feel. I only just noticed his nephews call him ‘Uncle Sam’
The balls on them with that straight from the comics costume. Captain America 4 in develepoment by the showrunner of Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The show was fun watch, but one wonders what it could have been without the pandemic. One of the main plotlines was a man made pandemic, but that had to be hastily written out, and it showed.
Followed the final episode with Captain America: Winter Soldier. Still my favorite MCU-movie.
Overall, a solid ‘B’ - commendable they introduced the racial politics of a black man being Captain America into things (and handled about as well as it was going to be in a Marvel Disney show), Isiah Bradley was a good story line. Some great Bucky / Falcon moments, John Walker was great. Zemo / Daniel Bruhl was great (once you just went with ‘I’m also a baron, massively wealthy and basically royalty. Did no one tell you?’.)
But it was all over the place tonally and in quality terms from episode to episode. Some of the character developments were eye rolling. (Agent 13 / Sharon Carter in particular). Felt like it had been cut down from 7 or 8 episodes somewhere along the line with important developments hand waved away in reshoots / ADR. (Probs related to the pandemic plot stuff mentioned above). I’m guessing that may have meant some of the weaker parts of the show (the baddies, the GRC, the power broker etc) would have been punched up which is a shame.
Looking forward to Loki. Looks class.
Would watch.
