Eternals picking up slightly better reviews in Europe.
Could we have another BR2049 on our hands where the ADHD septics can’t appreciate more artistic finesse?

Eternals did 161 million on it’s opening week globally, so I guess I was wrong when I thought it would be Marvel Studios’ first flop.
Just back from the Eternals. I enjoyed it. I’d rate it as one of the better origin movies (bearing in mind that the majority of them are a 7/10 with only a few stand outs)
All the complaints you’ve heard are justified to a point but your enjoyment of the film will entirely depend on your own personal tolerances of them.
To me, some of them were a plus (e.g least ‘Marvelly’ Marvel film yet worked fine for me, it being ‘Chloe Zhoa’y worked for me, I like her stuff and can see why she got hired). It being long didn’t bother me because I’m a grown man and don’t need to piss every 20 mins. I’d not say it’s slow. It drops big story and action pieces at a regular enough clip. Respect to Marvel for trying something new-ish and stepping out the standard template in several ways with it too.

I thought it was very average, Kermodes review is spot on
nicksneddon Nah, he’s usually good but in this case as soon as he says ‘are we not done with this sort of movie after avengers: inifnity war?’ his review became the bored rantings of someone who didn’t want to be there. Kermode has never been the biggest fan of Marvel flicks in the first place and also seems to gripe about the production line assembly of film. News at 10: that’s how big budget hollywood flicks get made Mark.

I hear the Incal has been given the green light to be made into a film. Firstly, not everything needs to be a film. Secondly, this really doesn’t need to be a film. Thirdly, just fuck off. Forthly, I’m willing to put my copy of Disk 2 on them including the probe droid, because, you know, fan service is everything these days, and fuck the actual story.
