Thought it was alright. Better than the tripe served up by TBOBF and the majority of Mando.

I don’t mind the dour tone given the time period it’s set and there’s an actual story to it and the Obi-Wan / Leia sections had some nice moments to it with her giving him sass. There’s even quite a touching moment when Obi-Wan remembers Padme’. There’s a notable lack of member berries thrust into the background of every scene in a lame attempt to stimulate the nostaliga glands and compensate for a lack of story. You would think it’s because the titular character is a walking member berry but that didn’t stop them with TBOBF.

The editing in this and the others is still quite poor though. There’s no intro and outro to some scenes (with a side order of assuming people have watched the clone wars / rebels and such like) in places which makes it feel like it’s rushing through and the vfx is noticeably lower quality than the movies and I’m not really convinced by Moses Ingram’s performance as the baddie (which is a surprise as she’s great in The Queens Gambit)

Neither brilliant or crap. Reasonably entertaining so far.

Wally Is there any Vader yet? The main reason I’d tune in TBH

alistair More of a set up for what is clearly going to be the big finale of the show. Tbf to the writers they did something with Obi-wan / Vader that seems obvious in retrospect that I never even considered with the second episode.

Wally ditto on the reveal at the end of episode two. Also never really considered that nothing in the rest of the Star Wars-universe explains how Leia knew Obi-Wan. So in hindsight the plot they have for this show seems obvious.

First 2 episodes are great, some nice touches throughout

Wally I don’t mind the dour tone given the time period it’s set

And what time period is that????

zackster 10 years after episode 3 takes place Zack. I believe it was a very long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. HTH!!!!!!

Of course. As everyone knows the AE3 time period was extremely dark and dour.

Re Obi Wan, first episode was a bit laboured but the second raced by. Some lovely touches and Ewan McGregor showed the perfect mix of wisdom, humour and vulnerability. Final scene in episode 2 was genuinely spine tingling. Looking forward to 3

Enjoyed the first two episodes of Obi Wan, great casting for mini leia.

Amps For the sake of art they need to do a KLF and delete their back catalogue.

          Undeleted since Jan 1st btw.

Money always has the last word.

PreparedRemarks Undeleted since Jan 1st btw.

I think all the original DATS were wiped, so no remixes or proper remastering, but yeah, available again to purchase.

John Higgs book on the KLF is well worth a go if you haven’t already.

Good bordering on great episode of Obi-Wan this week. Try and watch it before anyone spoils it for you.

Wally went all in with that episode. No holding back for the third one. Lol.

zackster Star Wars has a pretty toxic fandom. Well part of it is, but it is a loud part. Kelly Marie Tran of The Last Jedi had to leave social media because of fan abuse, John Boyeyga and Daisy Ridley have spoken about the “feedback” they got, and now that horde is upon Moses Ingram. Funny they never have problems with white male cast of the new stuff.

Obi Wan Episode 3 was quite literally the best 45 mins of Star Wars since 1983. Vader!!!
