Superhero/ Star Wars-discussion COOL KIDS ONLY
A three hour long playstation cut scene from the storytelling pen of James Cameron?
S to the werve.
First one was Dances With Wolves, this one is Waterworld, the next one is… Tin Cup? They all take up golf?
Not at all shocked by Stu. However I expected better from Amps. Not only is Avatar 2 going to be absolutely stunning but it will also display perfect politics.
Millsy Absolutely agree – I remember when the first one came out Cameron was dead excited about all the techniques that the actors used, hooking themselves up to all these wires and the like to capture their movements properly. That’s great however the end product still looks like a video game
I think the technical term is motion capture Sneds.
This is Steven Spielberg signing out.
Steven SpielBERK more like!
thats the one
Avatar 2 trailer got 184,000,000 views online in one day. Ya’ll best be ready to swallow Jim’s dick and balls whole, because he is absolutely going to do it again, folks! Yes, Avatars 2, 3, and 4 are all coming, just like he said they would, and they are going to elevate humanity to a new enlightened reality
nicksneddon the end product still looks like a video game
And, I am sorry, but wassup? Have you seen the fucking muck that MCU and Star Wars put out? You clap like a fucking circus seal while the most flat fucking shit ever sluffs across the screen. Even on the fucking iphone, Avatar 2 looks infinitely better than anything Marvel has ever vomited into an iMax. This new Cameron masterpiece is intended to be viewed at a frame rate that will cause some to experience epileptic fits. Get on board now lads. A new world is dawning, and if you spend too much of your time being a capping naysayer human meme then you will find the doors of Pandora SHUT when you try to come a knockin’!
where Jim Cameron is concerned I am as serious a T-1000 attack. He does not fail, period. Everyone was in the lols when he said “I am making three more Avatar movies” 15 years ago, or whenever, but now the reckoning has come! James Cameron is in reality what Elon Musk can only play at being.
I’m a fan of Nick’s recommendations on here, but “you clap like a fucking circus seal” is poetry Zackster. Lol.
Also, I haven’t watched avatar and never will. Blue goblins flying around isn’t my scene.
Did watch T2 a couple months back, and that’s still boss.
No disrespect to Nick. Top lad. Had to use him as an example for besmirching the American Napoleon, James Cameron, is all.
Jimmy Cameron is will be well envious of this groundbreaking CGI.
Stumbled upon this…. brilliant.

zackster Im gonna shock you mate – im a massive Marvel AND James Cameron fan
nicksneddon glad to hear it. Am en route with the blue paint now.
zackster I thought Avatar was pretty average however
nicksneddon so did I. Then I rewatched it after many years and realized that it was unironically amazing.
I haven’t seen Avatar.
Cheers!
How is this real?
He’s got you there mate
Obi Wan Kenobi out today!
Andor trailer looks ace, mostly due to them having some serious talent in front of the camera for it.
Stellan Skarsgård & Fiona Shaw on a Star Wars-show? Okay then.
Yep, great cast.
They need to turn it up as well
I enjoyed the two Obi-Wan episodes. Very prequels stylistically, but that should not have been a surprise.
- Edited
Thought it was alright. Better than the tripe served up by TBOBF and the majority of Mando.
I don’t mind the dour tone given the time period it’s set and there’s an actual story to it and the Obi-Wan / Leia sections had some nice moments to it with her giving him sass. There’s even quite a touching moment when Obi-Wan remembers Padme’. There’s a notable lack of member berries thrust into the background of every scene in a lame attempt to stimulate the nostaliga glands and compensate for a lack of story. You would think it’s because the titular character is a walking member berry but that didn’t stop them with TBOBF.
The editing in this and the others is still quite poor though. There’s no intro and outro to some scenes (with a side order of assuming people have watched the clone wars / rebels and such like) in places which makes it feel like it’s rushing through and the vfx is noticeably lower quality than the movies and I’m not really convinced by Moses Ingram’s performance as the baddie (which is a surprise as she’s great in The Queens Gambit)
Neither brilliant or crap. Reasonably entertaining so far.
First 2 episodes are great, some nice touches throughout
