Made the mistake of weighing myself yesterday. I’m nearly 2 stone overweight, wasn’t surprised but have been in denial whilst all the time my clothes have been closing in on me.

Might have to start that walk / wobble thing round the block that you see fatties doing who are to unfit too jog.

Anyine else been in denial?

Mad_Cyril same thing happened to me before Christmas covid which took the weight back off. Don’t run but enjoy a daily brisk 5km park walk (got a few routes) with banging tunes on. Helps clear the mind, keeps weight off and allows me to listen to tunes without my mrs nagging me for “adult conversation” 😂😫 Missing gym

Nope, am on the Keto diet which is fairly brutal but definitely works if you stick with it.

Those pesky refined carbs from beer, bread, pasta, rice, any processed shite food are what do it.

Difficult one with the current situation though, hope you find something that works MC!

I thought I was slightly overweight until I tried my suit on last weekend for a upcoming funeral. Jacket way to tight and also the trousers. This new lockdown isn’t helping much either.

I try to do 8000 steps a day, using a step counter app on my phone. Worth setting yourself a target, when there’s no real reason to walk anywhere at the moment.

I’m officially in fat bastard territory now.

      Cheers 🥂

As I regularly remind my wife, in some cultures it’s a sign of wealth and it drives the women crazy.

        100kg. I’m 6,1. Not good.

GP has been on this morning, bloods revealed cholesterol is at 9, was 3.8 last year.

There are a few other variables in the mix, hence a yearly bloods check, but there’s a clear message.

Wonder how many others, who aren’t lucky enough to be monitored yearly might be in similar boats after this year.

Secondary impacts of this don’t bode too well, hadn’t given it a thought up til now

Because they’ll be wadded when the heart attack happens 🤣

A polish friend once told me chubbers were a target for hot women for same reason you stated!!

          Hursty
When I was starting this thread I knew you’d rock up 🤣🤣

          Should have labelled ‘fatties only’!

Lockdown is a cunt. Less active obviously. Stick to a diet and a training routine you KNOW you will stick with. There’s no point going hell for leather and giving up a few weeks down the line.

I started working out 2 years ago and have stuck to it ever since. No gym, all done at home. 6 days a week for approx an hour each day. 4 days of free weight/resistance and 2 days of HIIT routines. And a brisk 30 min walk on my “day off” 6-7 hours each week is nothing when you think about.

The real key is cleaning up your diet. I gave up most refined sugars. Soft drinks, snack bars, breakfast cereals etc.

It shouldn’t be complicated and it isn’t. Nutrition + Exercise + Consistency. Thats it. Oh and wine. Lots and lots of wine.

I’m a lazy cunt so if I can do it anyone can. 😅

I have never been much of a runner but have always been good swimmer and play tennis. Given both of those options are no longer available, it is very frustrating. I also used to burn a lot of calories getting tooled up and “dancing” "for five hours once a month in a club but that’s gone too 😂

No tennis is really pissing me off. That means I’ll have to start running again. Prob 2 stone overweight atm. Fatus maximus.

I blame the supermarkets and multi national
companies who make and force processed shite down people’s throats day in day out.

They pay scientists and doctors to continually produce confusing research about food so people continually default to what they know only.

if it has more than 3 ingredients then it’s processed and should be avoided when possible. Whole foods, preferably organic are what the gut actually recognise as food.

I think about the kids who are being denied PE, extra curricular sport/activities and in some poor cases the one fairly nutritious daily meal they would get.

Hursty That’s all well and good but these organic diets with whole foods etc etc are expensive, it’s not easy for people or families to eat healthy consistently because of the cost involved.
If it was comparable to eat good healthy food and the same cost then there wouldn’t be an issue, some people literally don’t have a choice with their diet.
I’ve hovered around 80kg for a year now with regular training at home, as smoo1 says, it’s all about being consistent.

LT42 It is very true hence I said preferably organic. A quick win is to use the dirty dozen, clean fifteen chart, which keeps costs down.

I don’t agree with your statement that healthy food is expensive, it is cheaper to go to the shop buy some veg and whole foods and make the food, however we live in a society where people don’t know how to cook, and don’t want too, so the processed shite wins every time. A perpetual circle of dis-ease.
