Along_the_Wire ScottBailey The XZ is better than using XDJ 1000 Mk2s from a CDJ point of view - I’ve got both. Buttons are useful for jumping around to cue points when you’re practicing and make setting up loops super easy
Along_the_Wire Millsy Definitely doesn’t feel as solid as the XZ and the jog wheels are like the RX, which I don’t like so much. Whether that’s worth paying the difference in cost, I don’t know. I also like that the XZ is so similar to set-ups in bars if ever I’m playing out. Which isn’t often to be fair.
Millsy I imagine the Pledge plays havoc with the torque/platter feel on all and any controllers at casa McKay.
NasserAlazzawi New little leak from a Mexican shop who accidentally published / will get their arses tanned
NasserAlazzawi Rumours of new RMX 1000 replacement coming out imminently, too. (unverified source as yet) That thing’s been on the go since 2012! Supposedly some are dropping tomorrow and the AZ is on / around 10th.
Unbroken1 …haven’t seen mention of these, but look pretty cool IMO, look forward to giving them a listen. A chunk cheaper than their next smallest monitors, the A4V’s at £290:
NasserAlazzawi Xone 92 is getting some kind of update today https://www.instagram.com/stories/xonedjofficial/3474385811156319189/ (story will disappear in about 8 hours)
IndustryStandard Unbroken1 …i had a Xone 32. When you engaged the filter the lights would flicker in the house! Lovely sound but felt like it was put together in a shed.
Unbroken1 IndustryStandard …interesting, generally speaking the build quality was better than most. I had one of those late 90’s Roland mixers with the on-board DSP FX/midi clock etc, DJ2000? Mixer was OK and FX were decent, but you couldn’t engage them without it clipping the sound. Convinced that’s why they never took off…
Amps Industry mate just had the A9 in his gaff for three months… he never got it out the box, too busy etc.
ScottBailey Unbroken1 I had one of those late 90’s Roland mixers with the on-board DSP FX/midi clock etc, DJ2000 Remember seeing the DJ2000 pictured in a few of the big clubs in the 90s. Pretty certain Space had one for quite a while. Maybe Spundae too. Defo seen Sasha pictured using one back in heyday.
Unbroken1 IndustryStandard …feature-wise was pretty good for the time, forgot it had the built-in 3-band Iso, not many mixers did then. Unfortunately, sound was compromised when the FX were active, which made having some kind of silent switching pretty important
