Mojaxx has a jab at the branding opportunity they missed

The brand was sold multiple times and in the last sale the team stayed the same but the license to use the Pioneer DJ name was extremely expensive to maintain beyond 2023 so they decided to phase it out.

I’m still of the notion that less is more, almost go back to 1210s if they were digital.

Sorry if this is retarded but After a 2 year hiatus away form the decks ive recently began to source music again. I had a an issue when i tried to download rekordbox again though . Am i correct in saying you need to sign up to a paid subscription to use this software now?

The free version didn’t seem accessible form the website?

seanc80 Rekordbox should be free to download and then upgrade to a subscription. The free version is fine for performance mode if you have a hardware unlock (ie plug in a Pioneer device). If you want to use the app and the cloud, you got to pay - I found it too much of a faff and am back on free

Hi mate it always looks like you have to subscribe. In many cases you don’t but you go down the funnel at first. What are you mixing on? As all controllers and new CDJs hardware unlock and some devices do it too.

sorted it - wasn’t a recent enough version of windows on my laptop!

seanc80 nice one. In RB7 in the Preferences there’s a new layout - when you first go on there’s somewhere less obvious (look towards the top of each preference page) and you can eventually find a button to Link your XZ serial number to that computer.

Once you’ve done it you get full performance mode regardless of whether the XZ is plugged in.

The ‘Smart Cue’ function mentioned at 27:10 sounds pretty handy. Tbh it’s something I’m amazed doesn’t already exist with the 3000s as it seems such an obvious way of operating.
