DB4 was awesome, but maybe a bit too complicated. Digweed is still rocking it if the promoter can get one. If not then V10 like everyone else now.

mono-stereo Sasha was using 92/96 until V10 came along. I guess he liked it more. It does seem like an absolute beast. Even most of the Model 1 crew switched to it. Liebing, Mouldebar, Voorn…

If money was no object etc. One came up a few months back 5000 gpb. These unions are 5.5k so not really a saving 😂 Look sublime in black though.

The V10 can fuck off too. Simply overly complicated like the db4. Who wants to stare at all that shit when it can all be a lot simpler?

Would love a valve mk2 radius too. The closest I’ve been to buying another mixer. Will probably succumb one day. Kids etc . Do you know anyone with one damo? The 4 valve?

Cankles-McJeggings …seen V6’s listed for way more than £5K (embarrassed to say what I let mine go for!).

Haven’t played on the valve Radius, but a lad i know who rents party kit in Ibiza and literally has had his hands on every mixer on the market, really rates them. The mk2 adds the HPF which is a gamechanger for me, could never understand why it was originally on the standard Radius but that the valve originally was EQ only (tbh, I’d rather they stripped it down even more and lost the EQ altogether).

mono-stereo I don’t think Model 1 had anything to do with A&H. They’re still built in his shop. Like are the Mastersounds-mixers.

Nah they did work in conjunction with AH on the model one. AH helped to make it and distribute it.
I think I’m right in saying they are both in Cornwall too.

Cankles-McJeggings yeah I regret not getting the rotary one. They had one in the shop I bought mine in 03, mine is still like new my brother in law ran nights and day parties in Dublin for years and anytime they had a guest I’d lend it to them, such a great mixer still worth the money.

Unforseen? Has a certain model gone tits up or something? Maybe a recall? Not a good advert in any capacity either way. I should add they went on to say rather than wait go and get it done somewhere else.

Cankles-McJeggings you can’t get new gear, and everyone’s having their old mixers looked at? I think the component shortage is still a thing. Though that should affect the repairs too.

Cankles-McJeggings …to be fair, now they are Audio Technica, they could be working on all manner of shitty USB turntables etc., A&H stuff might scarcely feature in their repair/service work.

If you are thinking of a 3rd party service, have you considered getting a rotary kit for the 92? Quite a few people do them and by all accounts some are better than others, but if they are looking under the hood anyway it’s a relatively straightforward job.

There’s a company called Dark Bahamas do nice custom work and get great reviews, don’t think they have a web page but they do have an IG profile and sell stuff on Reverb. They might sell you a conversion kit if you can find someone local to do the work?
