Dan Tbh who in their right mind wants to go to India?

It’s a brilliant country to visit SD.

jonattonyeah I saw him post on FB this morning, so I think he’s just avoiding us at this point.

He told me he would be back soon and then told me Daft Punk Rules 4EVA

Smallman1 Couldn’t handle all the poverty. Mates have said it’s awful.

It a bit like the Chinese food different areas have their own types of curries. If you go right up into the North-West up near Kashmir they use a lot dried fruits in their curry whereas if you go right down South around Chennai their very hot and dry(Madras) Goa has a mixed bag but vindaloo comes which is a pork dish originally. Another fav is Chicken Xacuti also from Goa which is a spicy hot curry made from red chili, coconut and poppy seeds. Probably my favourite food is a local fish Thali. The good ones will have King fish plus the usual side dishes of rice, veg shredded prawns or clams with a hot coconut curry.

Smallman1 I hate agreeing with Ed, but the golden temple at Amritsar is something else.

Delhi is crazy. But had sone tip top food there.

Dave confirmed that the Chinese round the corner from me is a more legit version. Absolutely brilliant food in there.

This may come as a complete shock to one or two of you who’ve found that Chinese food in China and Italian food in Italy are better, you should try curries from Sri Lanka. Amazing.

I just got mullered on beer in the hotel for the first day. Then left. Could have done better on my very brief trip to Sri Lanka.

I was like that the first time I went to Nepal just after 9/11. I remember landing at KTM airport and getting a taxi into Thamel the tourist part of Kathmandu do. within 15 mins I was thinking what the fuck have I done as I’ve never seen so much poverty and I was booked to stay there for 3 months. Once i left KTM and went to Pokhara all those feelings went away I started to make friends with the locals. It’s the same as India at first it’s difficult but after a while you get used to it. And you soon realise what an amazing country it is. It’s got everything really. The Himalayas in the north the deserts of Rajasthan to the beaches of Goa & Kerala.

Sojo in Oxford is the best Chinese food I’ve eaten.

I went to Amritsar & the golden temple a few years ago. I was blown away by the size of it.

Dubman and the serenity. Was just phenomenal. Obviously outside was mental. But inside was so peaceful.

it was a stressful trip though. I was on a Med-evac mission. Got our passports confiscated at immigration. A bad approach into India and the pilots were sweating bullets as they got really late clearance to land. All seemed highly stressful.

nothing a pint of lager abd chicken tikka masala couldn’t sort out

Definitely. I was only there for a few days. Did you go up to the border crossing between India and Pakistan. I was due to go but unfortunately I got the shits and was diagnosed with dysentery when I got back to Goa.
