jonattonyeah Yeah, I would agree with that. I mean, I’ve never really shopped for a household, given that I love living by myself and have no kids, but when you’re talking about buying things in a larger quantity, the costs do add up fast. I have moved towards eating less meat after moving here, mostly because of the cost, so I can’t even imagine what it would take to feed a household.

My American friend is a manager of a food market is Seattle. A lot of the food is all locally grown and is outstanding by all accounts. She also gives out food vouchers to the people who can’t afford it.

The amount we spend on food/drink shopping for a family of four is eye watering, especially during lockdown. It is the single biggest cause of argument between my wife and I. Still what is saved on commuting..

A 12 bag multipack does the 3 of us for 4 square meals a day.

£2.50 / multipack x 7 days = £17.50 / week.

Plenty of variety available if you’re prepared to shop around and think outside the box.

Lol, a couple of vegetarian days a week, cheese and onion, spring onion. A healthy fish day with the prawn cocktail. Roast chicken for the healthy white meat day and then go all out on a sunday with the roast beef dinner.
