JustJ Hi mate, it’s been discussed a lot before elsewhere on the internet - it’s a limitation to do with the screen and the CPU which is from a 2016 CDJ-2000nxs2. Don’t worry about the bars - use them as a sort of guide if you must - but get into the habit of moving your eyes away from them and listening to the beats to hear if they really are aligned and making really small nudges on the CDJ Jogwheel because the screen is sometimes wrong anyway whether you use Pioneer analysis, Traktor, or Denon Engine.

Sometimes this being seen as a problem is caused by people not turning on MASTER CUE (top right) and the CUE (on the top of the channel fader of the track you are bringing in), along with then using the CUE/MASTER headphone knob.

i.e. I often find turning to around 9 or 10 o cock and maybe around 2 or 3 o clock gives me a much more accurate feeling in my ears as to whether a track is really ‘in’ or not. One track does not overpower the other and trick my ears - this exposes the difference as one goes quieter.

The BPM counter and beat grid is not going to be accurate all the time - so it is best to start developing this habit to step your mixing skills up.

I have to be honest, learning on CDJs instead of vinyl did me no favours with this topic and it took me a long time to start doing it properly.

The fucking nightmare I’ve had with my XZ, Big Sur on my Mac and my memory sticks has been horrific. Meant to be practicing for a set I’m doing on Saturday, but just spent three hours tearing my fucking hair out - it all works now, but I need to go to bed. FEWMIN

    What was the crack?

I’ve heard the RX / RX2 and XZ can be a bit iffy if using usb sticks formatted in anything other than MS DOS (FAT 32)

There have been significant issues with 2012-2015 MacBooks when they have dual graphics and turbo boost.

    Remedies include l:

installing Turbo Boost switcher and gfxcardswitcher (turning turbo to off, and graphics to “Integrated only”

Close browsers especially Chrome, stabilising the graphics usage.

Rekordbox preferences - View - waveform drawing rate = set to MEDIUM

Restart and PRAM reset before every performance.

I used to get jitters and pops on the DDJ-1000 and the XZ when in rekordbox performance mode if I didn’t do all this.

      FFS. Bring back vinyl quick.

i did not really understand any of that but mine works fairly consistently with USBs formatted on a 2019 MacBook Air which now runs v slow. I load the tracks from RB on the memory stick then stick it in USB 1 and record from USB 2 - works well. I don’t fart about with wavs - just mp3s because its only ever me listening. i upgrade the software late because the upgrades always seem to cause probs for a bit until they sort it out. I have no idea how to use the computer as a big memory stick and connect it directly - why would you want to anyway when you can use a little memory stick. As you can tell i have probably not explored the full capability of the software ……probably because i have stumbled on a errrr system which works …. if there are any videos which show me how to use it properly i would be interested

This in no way answers your question Nasser, for which I apologise!

baggers44 not vital at all if your kit is working.

If you’re on 1.22 that’s by far the best one based on feedback online. I’m staying on it until the public gigs I have on Friday/Saturday (with the XZ) have happened then I will try 1.24

From what I’m hearing 1.23 is worth a swerve as it solves one issue and causes a few more.

1.24 people online who were complaining about 1.23 say its spot on so far.
