Dan

In all fairness it has surprised me over the last 12 months where my feelings have been at around music.

Until a year ago I probably my thought I’d be die hard Prog forever. And I do love Prog don’t get me wrong but I like experimenting with new sounds and not stagnating as well.

DJs can’t keep everyone happy whichever way it goes so I’m going with how I feel today and not worrying about it.

Play what you want, mate. The more diverse the better. Try not to pigeon hole music genres.

Dan Try not to pigeon hole music genres.

…or even better, just ignore them altogether.
I’m fucked if I’m letting some Beatport algorithm tell me what ‘style’ I’m playing.

I just discovered (7-months after hearing it) that ‘As it Was’ tune is Harry Styles… belting track that!

Unbroken1 I’m fucked if I’m letting some Beatport algorithm tell me what ‘style’ I’m playing.

Amen. Half the time it doesn’t even say the right genre (to me anyway) - the labels change it to appear in different lists.

alistair …they did! knew the track, had no idea it was HS, proper ear-worm.

        Dan …ME!!? 😉

Said it before, follow artist labels/labels you like, make some effort to discover new ones, and move along if they deviate from your tastes, if you worry about what is in vogue or people’s perceptions of what you play, you are in trouble.

NasserAlazzawi And it was fucking Wednesday when you posted your tracks. And it was only 3. And the week before that it was a fucking Tuesday or some shit.

I’m going to dedicate my tonight for Quattro 3, so will post mine tomorrow. Seeing as anarchy rules now anyway.

Homegrove having just listened to the individual tracks on Traxsource this morning, I’ll only be buying two of them (Babicz - Afterlife and Speakwave - Thermal Drive). Sounds like another disappointing collection of tracks to me, much like Quattro 2, but sure others will disagree. Big PASS on buying the whole thing.
