Unbroken1 I’m fucked if I’m letting some Beatport algorithm tell me what ‘style’ I’m playing.

Amen. Half the time it doesn’t even say the right genre (to me anyway) - the labels change it to appear in different lists.

alistair …they did! knew the track, had no idea it was HS, proper ear-worm.

Dan …ME!!? 😉

Said it before, follow artist labels/labels you like, make some effort to discover new ones, and move along if they deviate from your tastes, if you worry about what is in vogue or people’s perceptions of what you play, you are in trouble.

NasserAlazzawi And it was fucking Wednesday when you posted your tracks. And it was only 3. And the week before that it was a fucking Tuesday or some shit.

I’m going to dedicate my tonight for Quattro 3, so will post mine tomorrow. Seeing as anarchy rules now anyway.

Homegrove having just listened to the individual tracks on Traxsource this morning, I’ll only be buying two of them (Babicz - Afterlife and Speakwave - Thermal Drive). Sounds like another disappointing collection of tracks to me, much like Quattro 2, but sure others will disagree. Big PASS on buying the whole thing.

ScottBailey It’s dire so far. Seems like a series of outtakes but together in a hurry. Bedrock has released some good stuff this year (Artche, Franky Wah, Carachi and Pig & Dan spring to mind). Sadly this is pretty shit

Do any of you find your own mood / what you’re doing / even time of day you first listen to things affects how you rate something?

I’ve heard the same track in different situations and ended up disagreeing with my first take on it.

(I wonder if listening to Quattro first thing on a Friday morning might be received better with a few cans after work or if you’re getting ready to go out etc)

Sometimes my favourite way to first hear something is in the car on a good sound system.

Homegrove so will post mine tomorrow. Seeing as anarchy rules now anyway.

            Not you too 🤦‍♂️

alistair not sure how many more remixes and reworks of ‘Nothin New To Feel’ I can hear without starting to dislike it

NasserAlazzawi completely agree. I rush into listening to new albums first thing in the morning and often not impressed. Going for a walk listening to an album and it’s a whole different perspective

Surprised there’s not another remix of Fumi on this too

ScottBailey I liked both of the previous Quattro’s well enough, but have not gone back to either. Well, the Babicz-ambient mix on Quattro II I have listened to a lot on mornings.
