alistair I’m not even sure “tech-house” was a thing, more a sound, a feeling - just people playing house and techno stuff together that had a certain sound to it.
Smallman1 Not everyone understands tech house music. It’s a spiritual thing, a body thing, a soul thing.
Unbroken1 …the problem with ‘tech house’ is that it called itself ‘tech house’ and subsequently ‘blew up’. Ignore what the journalists call it, and play the music that makes your willy tingle. As soon as something gets a name its on its way out.
ScottBailey Tech’ house is like Ronseal. If you can’t hear a bit of techno and a bit of house in the track, it’s not Tech House. Problem is that people have massively lost the ear for what Techno is. Some people calling 124bpm ADID stuff “Techno” these days for some strage reason. Reckon listening to a Luke Slater set or two might realign them.
Mad_Cyril ScottBailey Some people calling 124bpm ADID stuff “Techno” these days for some strage reason. Boils my piss, as does them calling it Deep House.
Mad_Cyril Dan It’s bloody wrong Dan, they should bring back conscription, teach them a thing or two about respect
Mad_Cyril Dubman LOL, no doubt FEWMIN at each ‘techno’ mix on soundcloud. Up all night crafting unintelligible meeems to hold forth the 123.5 bpm tidal wave
zackster Dubman I’m sure Zakster can’t wait for the latest Adid release every month I had a chance to end the nightmare, but lost my nerve.
ScottBailey Always thought Slam were a good example of Tech House. Could hear both influences quite clearly. Some of Technasia’s stuff also relevant in my opinion.
ScottBailey Dubman personally would call that straight up techno, but you only have to stick on '‘Positive Education’ for a prime example. Layo & Bushwacka were also really good at doing Tech House too. '‘Healer’ (from Bushwacka) is another great example in my opinion.
Dan Dubman Mate, have you please got the link for the Pappa mix you posted. I can’t seem to find it. Cheers in advance.
