How often do you lot change TVs? I’m on my third in 20 years.

Homegrove The last time I bought a tv was 6 years ago. Before that, 2011. I still have the one from 2011, but it’s small in comparison to what’s out there now (32inch), so that’s in my bedroom and my bigger, newer TV is the one I use most often.

Every 5 to 7 years I’d guess. When I bought my OLED I moved the Panasonic plasma that had been downstairs into my dj/gaming room.

Couldn’t help but read this in the voice of Partridge 😆 . You are right though, I think it mostly boils down to the fact that they’re reliant on other companies for the panels.

https://www.rtings.com/tv and the TV geek forum on https://www.avforums.com are both good places to do some research.

BF (RIP) would have been all over this thread!

Personally think the Samsungs look the absolute nuts

In the market for a 50″(ish) TV. No gaming. Just streaming, sport and playing .mp4 files

        Any recommendations please?

You can’t go wrong with any of the latest offerings from LG or Samsung.

Has anyone gone in for a TV with two tuners, where you can record straight to a USB in the back whilst watching another channel? Or does everyone just use catch up services?

Got a virgin TiVo box which can record and can watch multiple channels at the same time.

Dubman Yeah, got a Humax which does similar, looking to jib it though.
