ScottBailey @Hursty this is surely going to be one of the most watered down reports ever. If they came out and said “we’re proper worried that these things are buzzing our aircraft carriers and we can’t do anything about it”, Joe Bloggs will go into meltdown!

I’ve a theory that Elon Musk’s long winded and boring attempt to convince us that Mars is our new home, is a convoluted plan to get us all up there so he can feed us to his overlords. I’ve no evidence yet but when I hear him talking about Mars he always seems to lick his lips and his eyes roll in his head. Maybe he’s just a sound alien but I haven’t finished my thesis yet.

LT42 I think the point is more regarding to the technology on board modern military planes.

I think we all know how good the optics are on these planes, they have been extraordinarily good for decades, yet every time we get a UFO pic its like it was taken in WW2.

Hursty the simple answer is the optics onboard an F-18a are not for civilian use, they aren’t in colour, and they’re designed to track targets at high speeds. So the point is moot.
Also to add to that: the targets were tracked from kilometers away, they aren’t up close and therefore an iPhone doesn’t have the capability to see the target from that distance let alone focus on it.

FLIR pods don’t produce colour photographs, Hursty. You might be thinking of satellite imagery or images from high altitude recon jets, but they don’t track targets at high speeds.
