My brother is good friends with Gore, spent a lot of time with him in Santa Barbara. An incredibly sound and down to earth chap.
It was Depeche Mode and U2 in the 80s for me, of course.

Wasily yeah, usually if one likes one, then he likes them all, but there’s always a favorite.

LT42 I share your love of U2. From Boy to Pop, they were excellent. Zooropa tour was superb. REM also had a long purple patch

alistair growing up in Ireland in the 80s it seemed everyone had Larry Mullen’s hair.

alistair you’re a brave man rating anything beyond Achtung Baby. I was the same, but can’t listen to Zooropa or Pop anymore.

Homegrove you’re a brave man to slate ANYTHING concerning U2. If I had a signature on here, that would be mine.

Really? Thought everyone hated them now.

You can hate someone but still have respect for the artist

        Violator is a tremendous album.

I was given a tour of the The Church Studio in Crouch End where it was recorded.

Have to say Exciter is seriously underrated. Handful of excellent tracks and Mark Bell’s production is 👌

Smallman1 no time like the present mate.

Danny Tenaglia’s remix of I Feel Loved is overrated IMO. Just to get that out of the way.

Love Depeche Mode, but after Songs of Faith and Devotion, I pretty much stopped bothering. Though Songs of Faith and Devotion was a bit of a let down, but having revisited it after the last Depeche Mode thread (by the way, H), I love it.

The U2 Pop tour concert at Wembley was the best concert I’ve ever been to. Absolutely incredible

The Unforgettable Fire is a belter
