  • John Digweed 'Live In' Series - Fabric, London

His latest Transitions mix released today is the opposite of playing at Fabric. Nick and Hernan wishy-washy bollox.

mono-stereo yeah, i’ve only listened to the first 45 minutes or so too, but it wasn’t good. i’ll try the 2nd part, but my expectations are low.

Homegrove They certainly play differently in that club. Loved what Sasha was playing at Fabric during his Twilo residency….you had a taste of that tribal/breaks stuff.

It’s all about that sound system. Seems to bring out the best in them. Hard to capture in a recording.

Track highlights I didn’t know previously:

    Paul Schmidpeter - Pastel Skies
    Molo - Fleut
Dino Lenny - I Wanna Go Back (John Digweed & Nick Muir Remix)
Msafiri Zawose - Karibu Bagamoye (Musumeci Wild Pitch Mix)
Claydya & Ripperton - Hey Kid (Masaya Mix)

    and

The last three tracks on the mix.

So getting the Bandcamp-version was not wasted. Got most of those as singles.

Listened to the first 45 mins and liked it so far. <shrug>

I’m sure it was decent if you consumed a numbers beers, tucked into a few liveners and sloped into Farringdon to chug away (get on it and get your head down for 5 hours)
Sadly paying to hear this blows my mind.

Yeh it’s ok but a mix CD is a bit odd

Homegrove I don’t see the Dino Lenny - I wanna go back track on the Bandcamp version? just that torturous Sweet Paranoia track.

      The tracklist mystery continues

ps: you are right about Molo - Fleut. Class

maybe i just don’t like what digweed is playing these days, i haven’t listened to a single mix or set since montreal. into the second part and mono - fleut is the only track i can say i even like so far. i thought the first part was terrible, except for maybe the circulation track to open.

Old-Dutch not a single one. i’m writing a lot more than listening these days and a lot of the time i’m listening while looking for inspiration. when people who don’t like electronic music describe it as being boring because it all sounds the same, this mix epitomizes that for me.

to each his own obviously, i think i’m just not into the sound, kind of like that electro phase everyone went through 15 or 16 years ago. i’m sure it’ll come around again, this just ain’t it for me.

Homegrove like i said, it’s probably me. i’m sure it also has something to do with not being near a dance floor for 2 years. if i wasn’t scared of the whole fentanyl thing, i’m sure a couple of pills and a decent night out would rectify the situation.

-si- Having listened to most of these by now, I absolutely love the first disc or two, which normally have a deeper, housier sound. Uncle John really does pick some cracking house stuff. Once they veer into banging territory the mix tends to lose my interest. Hearing souless tech house/techno lite at 11am on a Wed morning whilst reading about pensions doesn’t quite relate to the ethos of the live in release…

i think this sums up my feelings really well.

The Bunker mixes by and large were absolutely brilliant. Great home listening tackle. Recommended you give them a go
