Re the crossfader.

I used to use it all the time, I now switch back and forward between the crossfader and channel faders depending on what I want to achieve from each particular transition or mix

Some gold in here chaps.

All contributions greatly appreciated 👍

Dan Agreed. Easier said than done these days though, there seems to be so many tunes and so little time.

Matt The digital world has it’s pitfalls as you’ve too many tunes.

    Matt …this is true.

Make a playlist of your tunes for that month and mix exclusively with those for a bit

      Unbroken1 100% this. ^^^^

I try and stick to a mix with whatever new tunes I’ve bought initially - and once I’ve got to know them better, start to incorporate older stuff…

Meant to say, for pure beat matching practice, go and get a couple of really minimal house tracks; mixing something that is almost just percussion will help with your accuracy. Some pad laden Guy J track with barely a kick drum and a 5 minute intro will be a ball ache when you are starting out. And on a similar note, minimal electro and techno tracks will have more ‘space’ in them, allowing you to be a bit more creative with your mixing. Think Chemical Bros - Brothers Gonna Work It Out mix.

My mate was a right nightmare for it and left the filter on every time. So many mixes in the afters where you think it’s coming in so perfectly only to take off the headphones and realise there’s nothing playing through through the speakers and you’ve got 30 seconds to sort it out. Bastard

Along_the_Wire …yep, mixed exclusively with the HPF on the A&H V6 and on the Rane 2015, never touched the EQ when I had filters.

Being able to mix like this accounts for the mega popularity of the Xone 92 too I reckon.

Taking this back down a level .

Just put up the furniture the boss has allowed me for my DDJ400. Great height and width but not deep enough for a controller and a laptop.

Looking at stands but think id need the controller to be sat on the base.

Difficult to tell online if the bases of the stands are ok with a controller sat on.

Anyone had one, know, recommemd any?

Sorry to take it back down to toytown!!

Mad_Cyril if the stand your controller is on is up against a wall, maybe you could attach a small shelf to the wall for the laptop to sit on?

Along_the_Wire I’m probably going to upgrade to the XZ at some point next year. What is it that you have found hard about making the switch from controller to all in one?

Get yourself a DJ laptop stand off eBay for less than a score. I used mine for years with no problems.

Thats what i intend to do Dubbers, i just want to know, dor sure that the controller wont be wobbling about on the feet of said stand.

Especially given i ha e a Gorilla DJ table thing in the garage that got the curly finger
