Along_the_Wire I listen to way more different stuff too as a result, although not sure if that’s really a good thing, stuff becomes very disposable.

Amps I’ll add to this the idea of a ‘process’ too. If you own the physical media, finding the cd or the vinyl, taking it out of the sleeve, putting it in / on and pressing play etc. gives you that level of interaction where you’re handling the thing, looking at the artwork, maybe reading the sleeve notes or the like, and I think it all helps with your involvement with the music, more so than clicking a bit of digital text on a screen.

Yeah, I think when I buy it, and have the thing in my hand, or kicking about somewhere, it just gets listened too more.

Occasionally. I have a few rarer Private and Silwa mags. Some of them go for mad money. Due to the shear volume of my collection though, if it was all physical media I would need a Slazenger bag the size of a barn.

Funny the stuff that appeals… BluRay / DVD cases and Hollywood artwork are junk and not something I’d have on the wall. With avant garde music and literature, you get interesting media and art, all of which are welcome aboard the boat.

The problem with the streaming though is that it’s fucking over so many artists. Pop music will shortly become a version of AI generated Kpop the planet over. Tory music.

Amps I do agree, and think the model should change. Either whack up the monthly fees by 4-5 times what they are, or make it so that you pay as you go so to speak. The amount of music you have access to for £10 a month is insane. I’m guessing if they hike up what we pay then people just go to stealing it off the internet instead.

However would need all streaming services to agree a model they all follow, otherwise will never work. But they won’t care I guess as they are not the labels or artists
