Full disclosure, I prefer the Chems in Dj mode.
Chemical Brothers - Desert Island track
Well that’s not exactly their fault. They seem like two dudes who like making music and putting on a fun visual show. They’re not releasing tracks ending racism or putting out dubstep ripoffs. They never feature in music videos, preferring to give directors a shot to make something interesting. They attempt collaborations that don’t always make sense (and don’t always work). They’ve been at it for like 30 years. I just don’t get the hate.
If we are going to get into the weeds, Autechre should be at the top of the list with the various Middleton/Prichard guises.
Yeah, seen the Chems live. They were alright but it was spoiled by being surrounded by aforementioned spengs.
Seems like a lot on here just don’t ever want to have fun.
Live a little lads!
I was on a rooftop with my top off when I heard Hold Tight London for the 1st time. Nice piece of music. Cheers.
zackster fucking LOL

Pretty sure Muzilk interviewed the Chems and they cited Accelerator by FSOL & Orbital’s Brown album as major influences.
Looking forward to the Leftfield thread….

From Wikipedia
During the 1980s, members of the moderate wing of the British Conservative Party who opposed some of the more hard-line prog of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and listened to the Chemical Brothers were often referred to by their opponents as “wets”.
Says it all really.
Lol
