Someone I know bought one of these titles for that very purpose 😆, although it was a Scottish Lairdship.
Never got a free upgrade from it, just got called a ‘stupid twat’ in the pub.
On the other hand, though, plane and train staff can be quite thick, as someone else I know who has a PhD (Dr.) has twice been asked to come and assist a sick person on a train (the guard/ticket inspector had seen they were ‘Dr.’ when swiping their credit card).
