  • Weird ambient dub music

I normally dig out a bit of The Orb for my travel down to Glastonbury or any other adventures on the M5, anyone got any recommendations for anything similar? Not to interested in dub house or techno really, more the weirder and wonderful side of things. Anyone?

Not sure if this is out there enough, but it’s not standard dub techno …

    Not sure there’s much better than;

    UFOrb on repeat
A huge ever growing brain as a finale

In fact, this will be my office soundtrack tomorrow, give the new headphones a run out

      Mad_Cyril It is a belter!

I reckon there must be loads of other good stuff out there though that I have missed. Every time I end up at a house party in Bristol there’s always some weird ‘what the fuck is this’ stuff on at 8am the next day.

Amps Yeah, the spotify album didn’t show up on my screen, it was blank space so I changed it to a YouTube link.

Clicks & Cuts, not exactly dub techno, but adjacent maybe …

Can you see the link in the post directly above this one? I can’t see it, but if I edit the post, the link is there.

Actually have a load of ambient stuff saved on soundcloud as I’m always chasing the Orb days gone by.

Tends to be more ambient / space oriented with a bit o’ dub than ambient /dub.

        Good smoking tunes

          FSOL - Life Forms

Yeah, got most of the important Orb / FSOL / Shpongle stuff.

            Dan FSOL - Life Forms

Might get a run out later.

“Entroducing…” is a fantastic long road trip album. Needs to be appreciated in its entirety. God damn masterpiece.

Not specific to the request but has that spacey element to it.

              Any artist names are appreciated.

Two Lone Swordsmen - The Fifth Mission (both discs).

I know! Just first thing I thought of when a long car ride was brought up. It’s not THAT far off. I didn’t bring up Twilo Thunder or something.

jonattonyeah You were clearly eyeing up the ‘post any prog track’ route and we both know it 😆 I was merely nipping it in the bud!

Kells77 Ooooooooooh, interesting shout, I don’t have a lot of their stuff. Will have a shuffty.

Amps If you’re open to some with a bit of a dub electro slant to it as well, check out: Two Lone Swordsmen - A Virus With Shoes.

It’s all pretty ambient but has a few more clicks and clacks to it.

Cow / Chill Out, World by The Orb is very good. I’ll have a dig later for some other stuff

I will take this thread over in two second, Amps. Fucking watch it. It’ll be Xpander v. Belfunk in no time.

Can some DICKHEAD just post ‘Nick Warren: Reykjavik Disc 1’ and have done with it??

Homegrove A little too ambient for what I was after but thanks all the same 👍

Or alternatively you could go balls deep on the 90s Glastonbury vibe and whack on Deep Forest’s first album.

Amps with an absolute horror show of a thread.

The version on Live in 93 is pretty much perfect, a bottomless bass pit.

Was so much better live, just total disorientation combined with fucking building shaking bass.

Getting a bit too nostalgic here!!

I’ve been working my way through everything this channel has to offer. Great stuff.
