Been talking with someone tonight about how she can normally handle her drink, but came to Cyprus and drank a fair bit, no more than normal, but ended the night going from normal to completely wild to totally projectile vomiting continuously and hitting (& remaining for a long time) near unconscious on the deck like a dead weight. As if they’d drank twice as much in half the time, then smoking a spliff and having a total Green Out.
Reminded me of 5 years ago I was out with Soph in Menorca and the same thing happened, we were only drinking normally, to the point where I was convinced she was definitely spiked - ’she doesn’t go on like this, something’s obviously happened’ ’we’ve only been out 5 hours’ etc etc.
On that occasion we were with someone who ran security from time to time in bars and he said the thing is he sees brits do this all the time because if you buy bottles of beer etc in Menorca (Ibiza, Tenerife etc) you know what’s in them, but when you get served mixer ‘vodka and coke’ or ‘rum and coke’ and other spirits, and repeatedly have them they’re cheaper dodgy knock offs where they are altered in the way the main brands wouldn’t.
Has anyone else either had this experience, or heard a better explained version of what the actual problem is?
