Dry-Tinder

So for the video, it’s actually good to see someone enjoying the tune. Can’t see what’s wrong with that.

His style might be different, but is argue it’s probably less annoying than the both thumbs your arse cynicism approach sometimes prevalent on here.

Did worry the lads head was going to wobble off at one point though!

Definitely calling him out for saying GU10 is one of his favourite albums ever, let alone GU comp’, but hasn’t (until this video) heard the opening track to CD2? Must be a CD1 only guy…

    I call phoney!

rhouses yeah but when the Craig Richards CD came out in 01 (which is great) GU was already on the way down , the last really good one being Diggers in LA in Feb 01. After that it was a slowly deflating balloon !

Damn- that was my retirement gig. Amazon it is then after my average career in the city comes to an end.

My YouTube channel would be giving guest slots to JC members to discuss tracks and classic JC threads / bantz etc. Plus Nick Muir would be roped in for advice on comfortable clothing for over 50s whilst DJing/Producing .

Now ya talking. Comfy pants & baggy t-shirts.

            Loved that EP…lol

Used to drop this on the end Ruhe.

Dubman perhaps a bush shirt in towelling fabric for extra absorption….

baggers44 Reykjavik, Miami, Sander K, Satoshi, Burridge… all 2001 onwards, all great mixes. Probably belongs in the unpopular mixes thread, but I enjoyed Singapore, Barcelona, and Trafik stuff too. The real fall from grace came with Jim Rivers & Sultan onwards.

Fabric always had the edge and longevity because of the diversity and a way more mature sound overall (mostly because the BPMs were not obnoxious).

rhouses Definitely some decent mixes post 2001, but that felt like the last time that I’d buy the GU albums on spec, on the day they came out. Became a lot more hit and miss, and there were quite a few I didn’t bother buying after I’d heard them…

vinnyt77 I left the states end of 2005, so my access to GU was pretty limited after that. Not once did I go out of my way to have friends bring a GU mix down to India for me. Fabric and Balance however, I absolutely needed those in my collection up until 2010. They pretty much ruined the board as well, right when everyone ridiculed them for the Sultan mix. Couldn’t believe they killed the board, seemed like their #1 marketing tool.

Cocaine is a helluva drug, I guess (in regards to the “fat lads” or whatever they were called).

Dan That sounds sooo similar to their remix of Jimpy ‘Talkin’ which they’d made previously.

It sounds like pretty much the same tune but they just swapped a few samples in and out.

hugopal All remixers do that tbf. Carl Craig is a prime example.

Dan Caned this. Pitching it up on the first break worked wonders.

                    Cankles-McJeggings Chris Bourne

Thought T&R were a fantastic combo. This was my fave of his on his own. Immense at Tyrant.

Yeah, it did cross my mind. Athens isn’t one of my favourite mixes, but even I know Seduction of Orpheus, probably because it is the most un-Tilt track that they ever did. His reaction videos reminded me of the early doors videos of Sasha, at the Cathedral last weekend. You have these dudes running in through the doors, cutting shapes and largin’ it on an empty dance floor like it is peak time, not because the tune is brilliant, but because they feel that it’s an expression that they are really into it. Maybe that makes me Jaded.

The track is shit compared I dream anyway. Was temporarily cool cos Tenaglia played it. The French tit with the nasal twine sample is deeply annoying

Dan could be Charles de Gaulle for all I care. Sounds shit
