  • The whole energy crisis thing

Along_the_Wire the people here working in the supermarkets (cashiers etc) just got a big raise. I think the companies after record profits thought wisely that fighting striking employers making barely 2K a month (with weekend pays etc) might look bad.

3.3 billion. These cunts are the same cunts that have made my mum, who’s 86, turn her hearing off 4 days a week in the middle of winter. The same cunts breaking into people’s homes with new born babies and forcing them to have a meter. Absolute fucking filth. Death is no wear near enough for these fucking parasite’s. 🤮

I’m confusing her with me and my Mrs. I’d choose more than 4 days though .

Has anyone seen any data on the amount of electricity required to run all the millions of EVs in the next decade?

I wonder how much the increased load has been factored in, especially when it comes to the price of electric, I’m guessing its only going to rise

Those energy stocks are looking even more attractive

    Hursty
That’s a good point. It will surely push up the price for tons of people who can’t afford an electric vehicle. Am I right in saying we haven’t got the storage capacity in the UK which is also a massive problem especially when it come to renewables.

Has anyone factored in the price of running EVs? News just in lads, oil prices have been going through the fucking roof.

Dubman Yes that is a big issue currently as it happens, we are literally paying wind turbine operators to turn off, due to poor infrastructure between the production sites and grids, not to mention the lack of battery storage facilities

Just think how much renewable energy is wasted each year this way, not to mention from solar farms

“In 2022, consumers paid £215 million to turn wind farms off, and £717 million to buy gas-powered electricity to make up the difference, according to UK Wind Curtailment Monitor data.”

The incompetence of this Tory government is beyond belief.

Dubman The lack of foresight is the most worrying, at least the current battery projects are going well like BritishVolt

Oh wait a minute… A 30GWh battery storage facility located close to renewable generation farms directly connected to the grid, sounds perfect!

Now in administration due to a lack of funds and seeking a buyout…

EDF energy, from a £21 million loss to a £1.12 billion profit within a year, top work team!

Everyone has been sold a lie and in the process have been robbed blind. If there isn’t a full independent enquiry into these companies then the country is officially dead.

            • Amps replied to this.

Amps bit harsh on Chelsea, I think Todd is doing a fine job
