Apart from a low hanging fruit Roast, it has to be beef.
The apex predator of Roast dinners.
The reason I ask?
Had roast pork for lunch (not a euphemism) and whilst it was bang on, it simply isn’t beef.

The Flavor Flave Roast was absolutely the best. No question.
Zack has managed to ruin the entire thread in one reply.
Unbelievable Jeff.
A septic in a roast thread was always going to end in horrific. Cornbread and ‘biscuits’ and whatnot. Fuck off pal.
Anyway, roast beef obviously, but I have been enjoying a well cooked pork belly and roast lamb is clearly up there too.
With lashings and lashings of mash NATCh.
Roast chicken (the chlorinated American kind)
If it’s done well, pork belly is hard to beat, and is the roast I must often cook at home. The alchemy of perfect pork belly crackling…
Beef can be great. Best roast I’ve ever had was at Hawksmoor - their roast beef rump is sensational. I’m a beef snob though. Too many places serving topside, silverside etc etc, that just aren’t that good. Roast rib, or at a push sirloin…
The roast potatoes I had were cooked in duck fat.
Or winning / guaranteed coronary as I Iike to call it.
Brits: Oi wot doss a yank know about a proper roast?!
Also Brits: look at me loverly roast!
That’s mince and mash chief!
It’s my dogs barf mate. Posted as a joke.
it’s all about a good gravy with any roast. Lamb is my favourite. Beef comes in joint second place along with Pork. I’ve just put in the oven an organic free range chicken for dinner this evening. It will be cooked to perfection. just hope it tastes good.
Yeah, that’s a roast alright Zack.
Bell.
Is it supposed to look like Trump?
Sean will look at that picture and will lament the mash to mince ratio.
Only mash too?
No chips, roast, baked, boiled?
Sean will FEWMIN.
Smallman1 slaving over a hot stove to produce 16 different types of mash (his sweet potato, Spring onion and cumin mash is to die for btw) and only one gets eaten? Wouldn’t want to be around in that kitchen once the news reaches him. Smashed crockery, the air turned blue and I dare say the usual waterworks.
Does anyone honestly believe that Millsy has had a proper roast anytime past the 2010s? Carefully measured chia seeds, flax oil, with a handful of almonds and a glass of water at 5pm sharp so he can burn off most of the cals before bed; would bet the farm.
Roast lamb for me. I absolutely love Coleman’s English mustard with a roast dinner too…honey roasted veg with creamy mash and few duck fat roasties - all accompanied by a Merlot that’s cheeky but not too rude.
