vinnyt77 RichM My mum (RIP, a Northerner) used to roast a whole shoulder of mutton with roast tats and mushy peas. Fucking marvellous.
Along_the_Wire When you stop eating meat, it doesn’t half take the enjoyment out of a roast. Fucking loved roast lamb and mint sauce. Loved a roast chicken stuffed full of garlic too.
RichM Along_the_Wire this would be my vegetarian go to if not doing meat for a roast dinner. https://www.olivemagazine.com/recipes/chef-recipes/cauliflower-shawarma-pomegranate-tahini-and-pine-nuts/
vinnyt77 RichM That sounds awesome. There’s a place down here that does a brilliant vegetarian Wellington - Squash, mushroom spinach and cheddar. Tremendous.
mono-stereo Rib of beef is the king imo. Followed by slow cooked lamb shoulder. Gravy is key to a good roast.
vinnyt77 Dan You’re welcome, but I think I channel Keith Floyd more… For each dry cider used in that recipe, there’s three for the chef. 👍️
-si- vinnyt77 Top class, vin. The missus loves pork belly, never had it in a roast. Will give this a rattle.
Smallman1 Heading here for a roast on Sunday, looks a little left of centre mind but I’ll give it a whirl for sure - https://thecamberwellarms.co.uk/menus/sunday-lunch/
Cankles-McJeggings It’s really sad but no matter how many times I read the title or the contents of the thread I can’t look past Edwands fav roast being a dude at each end making him airtight. 😆💪 And he knows it’s his absolute fav too. Sans cheese obvs.
