All good points, lads.
Looked at the MG Hector, VW Taigun, Skoda Kaushak, KIA seltos - all in the same price range, and the Jeep Compass with intention of splurging 50% more.
Jeep was nice inside, but surprisingly, the overall drive didn’t seem to warrant the price.
Way too many bad reviews from folks we know about the MG. yes it looks all fancy and spacious, but everyone has complained about the build. Feature rich but flimsy at best. Still need to test drive it but we’ve pretty much written it off.
Skoda and VW, under the same umbrella. Skoda is feature rich (ventilated seats, electric seat adjustment), VW fuck all features but apparently a more solid build and the most expensive from this segment of cars. Test drove both, weak sauce. Pick up was shite, and VW felt bumpy af on pot holes and such. Shit sound systems as well, Panasonic in the skoda and some in house one in the vw. Oh yeah VW didn’t even have the tyre pressure feature.
I went in to the KIA test drive thinking this isn’t happening, mostly because I had a Hyundai for the last 9 years and didn’t want another Korean car. Suffice to say I was mind blown with the KIA. A responsive drive with just the right power, featured up to fuck (loved the in house maps software, and the 360 Camera around the car), and it took pot holes well. Space inside was a bit of an issue, but we’re just a 3 member family. Bose sound system is banging, and out of all the cars, it’s priced the best.
