Along_the_Wire Same. Support the strike, and yes, it’s caused me some inconvenience socially. I think their strategic advisers are dogshit though. With the TOCs being propped up by the Government, they’re really not having anything like the impact they want/need to.

Ultimately, this government cares about two things - enrichening itself and its cronies, and getting re-elected. Strikes don’t impact the former, and I’m honestly struggling to see a situation where enough public services strike to impact the latter. Transport and parts of the health service haven’t had a material impact on public opinion. I think unless you see the emergency services, education sector and local services like refuse collection go out on strike, then the weight of public opinion is unlikely to change. Tory share of the intended vote has almost doubled in recent polls, since Sunak became PM. This is during the current set of strikes….
