hugopal Labour should keep their cards close to their chest on the issue but should one hopes be at least aiming to implement such a thing if they regained power.
Agree.
hugopal The ideal scenario would be that Lib Dems to manage to take a significant number of Blue Wall seats and hold the balance of power, forcing Labour in to doing something on the issue.
Also agree.
Labour have nothing to win and everything to lose by formally stating that they would either seek to rejoin the EU, or being definitive about the softening of any Brexit they would seek when in Government.
Feels a bit weird agreeing with Hugo, so…
hugopal They directly contributed to their own financial suffering by voting for Brexit - fuck them, they deserve it.
100%, fundamentally disagree with this. I fucking hate the result of the referendum, and that even six years on, there are still fuckwits who argue that it was a good idea. BUT - we are where we are. I’m very doubtful there will be another vote on it in the next 20-30 years, despite it being voted for by only ¼ of the electorate, despite it not being legally binding etc etc. I just don’t think any political party has the will to put such a fundamental question in front of the British electorate.
Given that environment, given I believe workers are being intentionally squeezed by a monstrosity of a Tory government, I’m unequivocally in support of workers who are choosing to strike, irrespective of their / their union’s voting record on Brexit.
You say tomato etc etc.
