vinnyt77 if I set my house on fire and then fight the flames myself whilst saving the dog, can I be a hero too?

For your pioneering work in ‘the sim’, you’ll always be my hero LT 💪

Mad_Cyril the correct nomenclature is “You can be my wingman any time.”

C_J On the gas whilst triple leveraged on some bet from Reddit. Fuck me.

Next election, Tories out, and Tories in.

Amps Are you disappointed that’s he lying (i.e. like a Tory), or that he’s apparently now NOT in favour of nationalisation (i.e. like a Tory) ?

        vinnyt77 Both.

It’s awkwardly edited for effect, but the point is made, he’s Tory light. Now hoping for a Green / Lib coalition.

The fukin kip of the country and he, the Labour leader, isn’t interested in doing anything about it. Tory Agent Starmer, saving the country with some ‘light regulation’.

Amps So it’s the policy position.

For me, his one and only job is to get the party elected / get the Tories out of power. I’ll judge his policy positions after the party have won an election, and start actually doing something….

He/they have obviously come to the conclusion the ‘N’ word is enough to spook middle englanders. As Vinny said, at this point in the game it’s purely about not doing a Kinnock.

My thoughts exactly. The reality is that we’ve had 13 years of Tory rule that has brainwashed a lot of people, and in the last election, the leader of the opposition was defeated in a landslide victory for the Tories. Irrespective of whether you think Starmer is Tory-lite or whatever you want to say, the likelihood of this country being able to do a pendulum swing to the left is highly unlikely and unrealistic. There are still plenty of thickets holding on to the ashes of Brexit that ain’t getting it any time soon and plenty that don’t care and are gullible.

What you can hope for is a party that will take us in incremental steps towards a better position. If the Tories are kept out for long enough, that process has a much better chance of happening, which is why the only job is absolutely to get the Tories out of power.

Starmer’s taking his cues and advice from Blair and Brown. Nationalisation 😂🤣

alistair LOL, that’s all you’ve got after the fucking cunt show you’ve voted for in the last 13 years? And I’m being fucking polite.

Along_the_Wire Suits me. Pretty much agreed with everything Tony Blair did domestically. Kept income tax low, rolled out academy schools, affordable childcare, foundation hospitals, tough on crime.

vinnyt77 I’ll judge his policy positions after the party have won an election, and start actually doing something….

Fair enough, I know I’m cynical, but I just think he’s bought and owned by business / industry the same as the Tories, and as such, if he gets in you’ll get exactly what you see from him at the moment.

Amps it’s the same tightrope Blair had to walk between appealing to left leaning policy and the corporatist pay masters. But at least it gets us closer to the centre ground than the current rampant right populism, and that’s a step in the right direction.

Millsy I get it, but I’m worried it doesn’t happen though, that he’s just a complete con job.
