The Actual World Cup 2022 Thread

Infantino should be burnt alive. How far has he got his dirty Iti hand in the till? Absolute cunt of a man. Rancid from top to bottom FIFA is. Won’t be watching a single game.
Mad_Cyril so the unbeaten run has been against lots of Latin teams (Bolivia, Ecuador etc)…. Hardly any European ones… so on the basis of the opposition they’ve beaten and a squad that actually doesn’t look all that amazing, I wouldn’t read too much into the unbeaten run… having said that, there’s no single outstanding team at this tournament - any of 5-10 countries can win it imo (including Argentina)
Brazil or Argentina for me.
You heard it here first.

- I didn’t say anything about the unbeaten run. I did tacitly suggest tournament winning ‘minerals’.

- Actually it always seems that way going into a World Cup. It’s only in hindsight that it seems ‘obvious’ a particular team would won. Example: West Germany were 5th favourites going into the 1990 World Cup, behind Italy (the hosts), Brazil, Holland (having won Euro 88) and Argentina (the reigning champions).
It was only after they hammered Yugoslavia 4-1 in their opening game while Holland and Argentina laboured through their groups that people started to say they were the obvious contenders.

Jules72 ….. an unbeaten run is worthless if versus crappy teams and I have no idea who they’ve been playing
Also I reckon Uruguay and possibly Chile, Colombia and Peru are at least as ‘good’ as some of the middling shite in the European qualifying groups, like Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, WALES and so on…
Dave has just named every single team in the World Cup to win it.
Brazil and Argentina have the squads capable of winning it but in recent World Cups they’ve shat the bed when up against a European team.

Theres no easy games in the CONMEBOL qualifiers or Copa America unlike in Europe where we have San Marino, Andorra etc
