Don’t stand right in front of the speakers. Job done.

Any suggestions for decent earplugs?
I have constant ringing in my ears now, so try to be really careful, but it doesn’t that much of a shit system to fuck my hearing up for a few days to be honest.
The constant ringing in both ears is something I could really do without.

i’ve already told you once, stop posting picture of that shit.
Went to see Kundulini airport last week & my mate said he’d get there early to reserve some seats. The plonker only sat all of us right at the front next to the speaker. I lasted for about an hour before I started going deaf in my left ear. Gone are the days when I’d actively seek out the speakers when I went out.
mjh I went to Harley Street to get mine – they give you a proper hearing test before having your plugs customized, I don’t know why I didn’t get them when I was younger they are a complete game changer I can recommend them enough. Think the overall cost was about 150-200 sheets

What difference does the hearing test make though? Don’t you just end up with a pair with filters from one of the standard acs or Elacin product range anyway?
They’ll be moulded to your ears, but that’s true wherever you go for them - as far as I’m aware those are the two main companies and they each have just one or two types of ready-made filters they recommend for people attending music venues, and the filters don’t get customised based on hearing test results.
I think it gauges how much protection you may need ( there are different grades ) – and I did it for my own curiosity as well, cant for the life of me remember what the results were it was quite a while ago. They keep your mould so that if you want to go up or down a touch you can do it pretty easily
Always generally seek out the loudest spot, no fucks given. Will pay for it later but then everything else will be fooked by then

Fair enough.
It’s just that looking at the acs website for instance the description for the 17db ones is:
“The standard for amplified musicians, DJ’s, vocalists, sound engineers, clubbers and gig-goers.”
while for 15db it’s:
“Suitable for unplugged musicians including vocalists, wood and brass musicians, and orchestras.”
My last pair were the acs 17s, and I just assumed they always pushed club-goers to them. Elacin have similar with suggesting the 15db ones for club-goers.
I have at times thought the acs 17s felt a bit overkill though. If I ever get round to buying another pair I might switch to the 15s of either, maybe even enquire about the 10s for occasional use - depending on the frequency reponses of them.
hugopal Ill have a scout around my emails, I must have a record of the ones I was given – I remember at the time I was thinkkng about getting stronger ones however after using them for years im more than happy with them
303abuser Yeah this is it mate, I completely regret not buying them decades ago. Oh well
I had one bad night at a shit club to see Kevin Saunderson. The highs were piercing and I’d forgotten my ear plugs at home. Ears were still ringing the next day, it never went away. I’m lucky that I can usually tune it out, but I really miss silence.
You know the bass bins that normally have empty bottles of beer in by the end of the night? There was a dealer in the Temple Theatre who used to sit in one of those, absolutely minged off his mash.
I’m thinking of him right now.
