Hey better than the record days where I’d be hammered and I’d order a bunch of tracks from like Hard To Find, 3 Beat, and Planet X. Package would arrive a few days later and I’d be like what I don’t remember ordering anything. Put them on the old 1200’s and wow I must’ve been drunk these are terrible.

At least BP is just a $2 commitment.

Any promo codes knocking about at the moment?

Amps Nope. They’re rarely ever worth it as they don’t apply to most WAV tracks. I always look at Bandcamp first. Much cheaper. The latest 3 track Bedrock EP is only £2 on Bandcamp but €6 on Beatport.

Anyone experiencing any problems logging in to the website from an android phone?

I’m able to log into my account via a laptop, but when I try the same from my phone, I’m getting an invalid prompt.

ScottBailey They seem to have issues all the time. Haven’t been able to play music on there using Chrome on a Mac for over a year. Have to use Firefox or other to browse.

Amps I’ve always used firefox on my laptop, so not noticed that tbf. Frustrating not to be able to filter by releases, or turn on ‘pre-order’ on my phone though. Fed up having to trawl through all the compilations being churned out at the moment!

          ScottBailey compilations being churned out

An end of year thing I guess? Not something I usually look at to be honest.

Amps I use a Mac and Chrome and never had an issue. Strange.

Beatport need a few more features. The ability to filter out comps would be nice but probably not viable.

Definitely the ability to filter out tracks you’ve already listened too would be handy. I know the bulk of promo’s are dropped on a Friday but they add them all the time.

SM001 you can definitely filter out comps’ on a laptop by using the ‘type’ filter to just see ‘releases’ only, but I don’t know if they use java (or some alternative) for that feature that my phone doesn’t recognise.

SM001 The thing they are crying out for is a tagging system of some form. So, if you really want a nice juxtapose track next, maybe some 303 acid to rub up against the piano track you just played, you can go into ‘prog house’ and then filter stuff tagged with ‘303 acid’. That would save having to filter through every track in the hope of finding one with a bit of appropriate acid.

I’ve not used BP in years. I don’t know why you’re all not using Crates. It runs off the BP back so you’re effectively using BP but with a much, much better UI. It’s a lot quicker than the BP UI, there’s more functionality than BP. Once you’ve spent 10 mins setting some personalised crates up it’s an absolutely dream to use. You link your BP account and you can purchase directly, so you never need to visit BP again.

It was jointly created by Mark Slee who owns SF’s Manjumasi label with Atish and another guy.

crates.co is the address for it. Give it a try.

Looks like Beatport but with an even smaller interface and artwork. Pass.

This is brilliant Simon, first time I’ve had a productive rummage for a long time

Can someone do mean a favour and try to log into Beatport via their phone (pref’ android) please?
Not been able to log into their website via my phone for the last couple of weeks now. Either get a “500 internal server error” screen come up, or says “invalid login”.
Everything working fine from my computer, and been really careful typing username and password in, so not sure if it’s something their end or not.
              Cheers in advance
