I can understand why people might have voted for him finding the alternative, a scruffy Marxist tramp, even more unpalatable. That’s the old ‘lesser of two evils’ vote, and it can smack you in the arse, as it did with me voting Blair (reassuring myself that voting Blair would stop Hague or Howard or whichever shitbag was leading the Tories at the time getting in) over the LibDems and then him sending us on a yomp in the desert to murder a load of civilians because of ‘WMDs’.
But what I can’t understand is that Johnson actually has supporters. People who were staunchly in favour of him, in some way. People who voted for him in some positive way, and still staunchly defend the useless turd, or even worse, say "I voted for him, but to be honest I’m disappointed in him*.
