Kings of Leon’s 1st album is a bona-fide classic. Raw and original. Then the record label vampires got a hold of them and turned them into a lighters in the air festival band.

Any band that has made millions selling music are just shrewd business people in my view and some people obviously must rate them so its not worth the endless subjective arguments.

Some people must like Nic Fanciulli, I rest my case.

    LT42 Albums 1 and 2 both superb.

A few years on and your mate who hates guitar music has Sex on Fire as his ringtone. Game over.

Good shout Si. She sounds like some comedy vocalist who sings all out of key.

Completely agree. The first is very good indeed.

LT42 Pulp were overrated for sure. Common People isn’t a bad song but the band had a weird following during the Brit Pop years. Manic Street Preachers, Muse, I’d even throw Oasis in there but you can’t deny they made some great songs, maybe they’re overrated in the sense they were lauded as the best band in the world at one point. The Proclaimers were voted Scotlands best ever band recently, now that’s OVERRATED.

These threads are bilge anyway because it brings out the retard in people. I’ve heard lads say The Cure were overrated. That’s what your dealing with. Maybe you’re not into their sound but overrated? Clueless. In fact, fuck this thread and fuck you, Ed.

    Decent rant that tbf!

LT42 The International Language of Screaming a classic track and video.

The first two Kings of Leon albums are amazing. No fillers, proper journey.

LT42 I’m not into Radiohead myself, depressing shite but I don’t think they’re a bad band, they’re brilliant musicians.

Yeah hence my little caveat. Undoubtedly brilliant, innovative, and iconic. Just never want to listen to them and that their insane fan base cannot seem to understand that makes them a bit overrated to me. No, I’m not missing out. It’s okay.

Love radiohead. Loads of great tracks. Can understand how some might hate them though.

First cunt to suggest someone else just “doesn’t get” a band they like has to move in with ed for a month…

I always liked Fake Plastic Trees, Karma Police, and his personal Erasure. There I think his dreary vocal style makes sense and the songs are really good. But 60 minutes of that? Yeah hard pass for me. Same with Burial. Amazing stuff when he’s on top form. But I think I’d be in a suicidal state after too much of it. Maybe the California sun has softened me too much; can’t appreciate the foggy melancholy anymore.

jonattonyeah that’s fair, i honestly love untrue as well, great album if not a little bleak. thom yorke’s production is so good, it overcomes everything else for me.
