alistair there a brilliant band live, completely agree with you about Reznor

Heno yep, I’d stand pretty hate machine and downward spiral up against any bands first two albums.

Smallman1 I’d start with their first Pretty Hate Machine and take it from there mate. Production is slightly dated (it is 1989) but the songs are great IMO.

Just watching this again today and forgot what an amazing soundtrack this one has:

      Kells77
Haven’t heard The Orb - Toxygene since I saw they played it live on the Oblivion tour.

Have to say I really liked the Mank soundtrack by Trent Reznor

Good time soundtrack by Oneohtrix Point Never.

Reznor and Fincher are just perfect together. The soundtrack for The Social Network is so weird but also so excellent. Not sure why is works but it just does.

Random aside, was trying to find Pump Up The Volume the other night. Not available anywhere. Because of the soundtrack. There’s an unreleased Beastie Boys track. So much other obscure music. They cannot clear any of it - nobody can figure out who owns the rights to what - so the film is not available to stream, rent, or buy other than used physical copies.

          Rocky 4
          Carlito’s Way
          Goodfellas
          Breakdance
          Beat Street
          Tron Legacy
Blade runner (gotta be in there)

          I haven’t.

          And wouldn’t.

Can’t tear myself away from the prog.

          In no particular order
          Superfly
Judgement Night (for sonic youth alone)
          The Last days of Disco
I’m not there (for Sonic Youth, again)
          Quadrophenia
          Easy Rider
          24 Hour Party People
          All the Beatles movies
          Christiane F

          Smallman1

Pretty hate Machine - ‘Something I can Never have’ is one of the most emotive and angst ridden tracks ever put on tape. Talk about exorcising demons…….'
