Eric Morillo

…interesting alternative take on comments from certain quarters:

Breaking the deafening silence from most men on the scene to point out that Morillo should not be vaunted as some kind of hero was Mr. C, who on Friday posted on Facebook what read like a deeply heartfelt account of being a victim of sexual abuse himself. He went on to condemn the DJs lionizing Erick, asked that they consider the feelings of his female victims, laid out an excellent definition of consent and urged his peers to protect women. I retweeted his post excitedly, showering praise on Mr. C as a man of integrity and courage. Shortly after, DJ Chloe Harris informed me that Mr. C had behaved in a misogynistic way towards her after they got into a Twitter spat last year. He called her “the bitter failed DJ Chloe Harris from Seattle,” and encouraged his followers to call her a cunt. His misogynist, racist and bullying behaviour had him taken off the lineup at Cascadia Festival in Granite Hills, Washington, last July. Mr. C’s intentions with his post about Morillo might have been good, and it’s awful that he was a victim of sexual assault, too, but how much credit does he deserve, having subjected a woman to misogynistic abuse the year prior?

…eh? who is the apologist? Certainly not the author of this piece
Unbroken1 Mr C probably shouldn’t have used the C word, but “DJ Chloe Harris” does sound like an utter loon of a leftist:
"The altercation began on June 20 when Harris (aka Raica) accused West of being a racist. As Harris describes it, West wrote a Facebook post asking for more funding for the UK police. She replied, “Fuck the police” mainly in jest, but also with a degree of seriousness. “Then he said only uneducated people or wannabe bad boys say ‘fuck the police,’ which seemed like dog-whistle racism to me,” Harris says in an email interview. “So I told him so and said that the police are murdering racism scum and anyone who supports them is, too. Then he said he has a cousin in the police and I’m a stupid vile cunt, and it all kicked off from there.”

I always thought Chloe came across as a decent person. Great DJ as well.

…as it happens I recall the spat, and the whole episode was pretty embarrassing, the degree to which it was specifically directed to her because she is a woman is perhaps questionable, (to be honest I thought the ‘fuck the police’ comment was unnecessarily flippant and provocative), but he did repeatedly call her a cunt, questioned her musical ability despite knowing nothing about her, and encouraged all of his followers to pile-on.
In short, he’s a bit of a prick who is probably not best poised to lecture other people on how to behave (despite his own unfortunate experiences).
I meant to link to the full article in my original post, read it here:

Edit: copy/paste…. for some reason it links back to this thread
I still buy records off of her. She’s appears to have had an atrocious year, not that that matters. She’s easy to deal with and seems totally normal to me. I’m inclined to trust her take.
…she was out of order (IMO), but his reaction was worse.
…this isn’t really about her though Hugo is it?

Unbroken1 and encouraged all of his followers to pile-on.
Not condoning that either, but as a separate question what do you think he should have done when she tried to publicly create a smear campaign claiming he was “racist” despite there seeming to be no valid grounds for the accusation?
…read my previous post. His reaction was disproportionate irregardless of what was said, ergo, he’s a bit of a prick that shouldn’t be taking the moral high ground.
Is she same chloe who was on 4four?
