  • What "Other" music do you listen to/recommend?

I think most of us listen to music outside the dance music genre, so what are some bands/sounds you recommend?

I listen to most anything from classical to heavy metal, but haven’t really been keeping up with anything specific lately.

I have some friends that have a pretty decent band with a ska/reggae vibe, and I listen to them pretty frequently. If anyone’s interested in something like that, I’d be happy to post some Youtube links.

Really just looking for some other stuff to listen to.

Nowaday I usually have Radio Paradice on in the Kitchen. Good mix of genres and no adverts. Sometimes it’s shite but worth it for the odd gem. It’s introduced me to all sorts of music I’d never usually listen to.

Was a massive reggae & hip hop fan and still look for it today but can’t find anything decent these days. Also like some modern jazz.

Dubman Check out my friend’s band. You might like some of their stuff. No hard feelings if you don’t though 😂

      Kells77
Sorry Kells that’s not for me but they do remind me of an old band but I can’t remember the name.

Dubman No worries at all! 🙂 They remind me a LITTLE bit of some of the ska bands from the early to mid-90’s, like Less than Jake or Reel Big Fish, except no brass instruments.

Dubman i’m the same way, it’s really hard find any decent hip hop now. check out the joey badass ep from last month, it’s actually quite good.

Dj Python’s - Mas Amable and K-Lone’s Cape Cira are worth a whirl Kells.

They fall into the ‘electronic’ category but give them a go.

          No probs.

Bufiman’s Albumsi is also worth checking out.

Listen to Hip-Hop(hence the avatar!), Soul and Modern Classical stuff. I try and consume as much music as possible. Any recommendations on where everyone sources their music?

          Probably the most beautiful piece of music I heard in 20 years;

            SM001
Bandcamp for the more obscure music. I also consume as much new music as I can.

SM001 Mostly discover new music on here. I struggle to keep up with just my narrow view of music, let alone discovering new genres - fuck knows how you lot find the time to do way more than me. Retirement will be mint when it comes.

SM001 yeah, pretty much the same here. Love the classic soul sound. Would love to have been around when those tracks were being released.

alistair lol. Bolton’s Barnet was spun from a heavenly thread. It literally shimmered.

Didn’t he go full mullet mode before he lost it. Music & hair together.
