OK, i’ll give you a quick example. Everyone agrees the NHS has been “underfunded” and “harmed by years of Tory cuts”, right? No-one disputes this.
But does anyone actually look at how much we spend on the NHS? Does anyone have any sense of what would be a reasonable limit on NHS spending, or would it just be 100% of all money? An infinite sum?
The NHS consumes any amount of money that is thrown at it because our population are so sick and overweight, especially the poor and the undereducated, who also believe it is their birthright to be taken care of from cradle to grave regardless of the cost.
A better strategy would be to give free gym memberships to people on low incomes, to give tax relief to people for losing weight and keeping fit, to tax McDonalds and KFC, and to make people on higher incomes contribute towards the cost of their healthcare.
