Anyone tried this? Had a go with it last night as there’s a 90 day free trial - it sounds really, really good. I don’t think I can hear much difference in sound above CD quality, but it’s definitely there or thereabouts. It sounds great on my hifi and better than Apple Music on my Home Pods.

The only issue is can I be arsed to start everything from scratch?

I’ve got Amazon Prime Grant.

And it goes without saying that I hope that helps!

Amps There are two elements - HD and Ultra. HD is up to 850kbps (16bit / 44.1kHz), Ultra is up to 3,730 (24bit / 192kHz). I don’t have any devices that can stream at the top end of Ultra, but if I’m really honest with myself, I could barely tell any difference between the HD and the Ultra

I switched from Spotify to Qoboz a while back as I bought a decent system (DCS). Still use spotify in the gym, but migrating between providers is not too hard. You can use this webapp to transfer all your playlist between all kinds of interface- beatport link, apple, spotify, tidal, quoboz etc: TBH I find the majority of difference is in the mastering, but can easily tell CD quality (1440/ 1548 kbps) from 320 kpbs mp3 on most tracks.

Perfectly happy with apple music, especially now that they have an exclusive agreement with Boiler Room.

alistair Have a go on Amazon HD - it’s free for three month - be interested in what you think, especially compared to Apple Music.

Wonder who the first “player” brand will be to get a streaming partnership with Apple Music. Wonder if the CDJ3000 has that capability built in somewhere that will get rolled out later

alistair I’m talking about the quality. That’s more important to me that a song I’m never going to listen to

Along_the_Wire I get your drift but content breadth is my priority as a bit of a dance music obsessive. For example, I was desperate to get that new Vogel and Port remix of Hot Chip that they unveiled on the Keinemusik EM. Apple was the only service that had it (including beatport, Spotify, amazon) and before it was even put on youtube.

Along_the_Wire I will try to find a way of listening and report back. Do the Pepsi challenge so to speak 😀

alistair There’s no question that Apple is better than Spotify. Although, the playlists some of the lads shared on here from Spotify look a lot better and the recommend section on Apple is tripe.

Would agree with Spotify’s recommendation algorithm. Is pretty much the main reason I use it, find better than a lot of the online music retailers - Juno, Beatport, Traxsource, Bandcamp most of which appear highly limited to me.

Or maybe I’m just attracted to shite and they serve me up more of the same!!
