First episode of We Own This City is available for non-us / Homegrove in the usual places. Might try and watch tonight. So hold tight.

Other recommendation is Tokyo Vice. Based on a young US reporter in Tokyo who takes on a crime boss. Ken Watanabe is in it. I’m 3 episodes in.

Bernthal quite menacing in the first episode of We Own This City, great start. A little quicker in pacing compared to The Wire, which isn’t such a bad thing.

First episode of We Own This City was excellent! Really liked it. Will avoid learning the real story, so the turns stay surprises, because the first episode delivered one hell of a twist already.

Started a rewatch of The Shield. Holds up! The acting is excellent and the stories pace along nicely.

jonattonyeah end of the first episode started a trend where you had to have a twist at the end of the pilot episode of any given new show to hook people in. The Shield’s has yet to be bettered.

LT42 Started The Sopranos with the missus who never saw it as she’s not a big “mafia” fan, we’re into series 3 and its blowing her socks off. I’ve realised my memory mixed up episodes and series and how good Livia was. It gets better with every episode, it really does. I know there’s a debate about the best ever and all that but I honestly can’t recall a series that does that. Its the benchmark. Ralphie just got eased into it like a Digweed transition and the first thing the missus said was “Who’s this evil looking bastard?”. So much good stuff to look forward to.

It’s great until Tony starts doing that shit accent in the final season.

It was okay. Way too slow with too much jazz fart sniffing just ‘cause Simon likes jazz.

I enjoyed “The Deuce” but I know some on here didn’t like it. Personally find that era of NYC is endlessly fascinating. Anything half-descent about late ‘70’s, early ‘80’s New York I’ll watch and likely give a thumbs up to.

The first (only?) season of station eleven is quite good. I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, but was pleasantly surprised by it.

Dubmick Without obvious spoilers, they seemed to close it off and leave it open at the same time. It was well written, I hope they decide to extend it.
