Now THAT is a cast.

Unhinged. Russell Crowe has a massive Reg over a bit of road rage and completely loses it chasing after Rachel Hunter. Not his best movie by a long shot.

Cameron teased a 4K version of the Abyss two years ago. Getting tired of waiting for it.

watched baby driver last night and was pleasantly surprised. thought the sound was really well done.

That’s Edgar Wright for you. The king of the edit.

Homegrove i watched it after an edible and between the tinnitus sounds that very well mimicked my own, the gunshot snares and rhythmic shooting, and great soundtrack, it was a fun experience.

      Den Of Thieves (2018, downloaded)

Gerry Butler, Pablo Schreiber, 50 Cent and [Ice Cube’s son] O’Shea Jackson Jr.

This is a proper guy’s movie. Cool guns, willy-waving cops, weight-lifting robbers. Fuck yeah.

It doesn’t all work perfectly, but you’ll like this.

      7.5/10

Millsy Just watched Jo Jo Rabbit. Loved it. Cracking film.

Finally watched it today. Great stuff.

The Trial of the Chicago Seven. As said above, 7/10. Felt like a “proper” film on Netflix, but with quite a lot of over acting and an awful lot of dialogue/exposition. I like Aaron Sorkin but can see why others might not.

bosstrabs would watch that again - In a year of good films in 2019, it was up there

Kung Fu Hustle, proper bonkers, the world needs more films like this, loads of fun. 8 Bruce Lees out of 10.

Highlander, can’t lie, I jibbed it before the end. It’s less a film, and more like some sort of elaborate, yet shite, film panto. If you can get past how downsey Lambert looks, you’ll spot that he doesn’t really do any actually acting of such, he just sort of says stuff. His Scottish accent is proper comedy too, and he spends most of the film in a pair of Diadora. No idea what Connery is doing in it. Don’t watch it, just remember how good it was when you watched it as a kid. 4 lightening strikes out of 10.

Good film that. Blatant “Heat” rip off but the Benihana scene is great and I’ve always been a fan of Pablo since his Wire days. But….why did they think going on a freeway in LA during rush hour was a reasonable escape route? Inexplicable plot flaw. Kinda inexcusable.

Amps haven’t seen it for a long time but remember Shaolin Soccer by the same guy being fun also.

jonattonyeah Went to see that at the Sugar Club in Dublin a few years ago. Great laugh.

jonattonyeah maybe it was meant to be part of their whole “hiding in plain sight thing”?! lol. I dunno.

There were definitely a few real head scratchers. And a few unnecessary scenes.

decent craic overall though. and Pablo was good.

              IT (2017)

              7.5/10

Solid. King takes his “Stand By Me” and does a horror version of it. Just enjoyable. Also never realized Richie Hawtin was in it.
