Along_the_Wire If it was a critique of the gig economy, it would have been about how an accidental fuck up can get you black listed from other jobs and / or increasingly difficult working conditions for less and less pay. He would have been replaced by another hit man in a comment on a disposable workforce and such like. There’s none of that there. It’s a basic revenge story (with a slight hint of how do you act when your world breaks down with the killer becoming increasingly erratic and breaking his own mantra) flashily done.

I still maintain Fincher did it because Netflix paid for him to make Mank.

The way I read it was that end boss guy was one of the elite e.g. the Netflix and movie industry executives who control the many and he didn’t get killed because the sheep only kill other sheep and The Killer (who is Fincher/ The viewer) is also a sheep / one of us and we are a product of that system and we ultimately act to protect and perpetuate that system and avoid a revolution. Because we are just all sheep.

Can’t remember the reviews of Oppenheimer on here, but don’t recall anything overly positive. It’s a brilliant, brilliant film - don’t like Nolan’s efforts previously either. Definitely one of the best films I’ve ever seen. The shortest three hour film ever made. 10/10

Funky .. agree. It was a film i really wanted to like and some aspects were sensational, but it just didnt hit the spot in the end. I may watch it again as I was blotto by the end of it on cheap gin 😆

Saw X. Guilty pleasure - load of ‘ol shite, but seen the others, so why not. Much the same stuff - my advice if you’re caught up in one of his games and you’ve got three minutes to do something terrible to yourself, don’t waste valuable seconds shouting “No!” And trying to get out of the the trap you’re in - all that will happen is, you’ll complete the worst of your task, but the clock will run down whilst the next stage takes place and take your life in a horrific fashion just seconds before your freedom. Atrocious attacking and story, but still 5/10
