Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse: 4/10. Action subpar. You know the twist the minute Guy Pearce rocks up.
Wasily Christ man…. what you doing watching such rubbish?! You’ve been relegated to Wally from Grant level
Mortal Kombat 2021: 2/10. Terrible, but not so terrible you can enjoy it.
Nomadland - really good. Although I think it could have lent into the (US) crippling capitalism and non-existent welfare systems that produces some of those nomads a bit more. It’s a bit sad Amazon got off so light in return for allowing filming at one of their centres for example. 9/10
Along_the_Wire You fackin’ loved it ya slaaaaaaagggggg 😉
Nomadland is a beautiful elegy. So much left unspoken. Stunning cinematography too
Yeah really enjoyed Nomadland. Cinematography is excellent. Not really a Saturday night movie though!
War Of The Worlds…. Spielberg version 2005.
The boy is studying it at school.
Still a decent film.
Dan Yeah watched that recently again, the first half hour is excellent
Jules72 Christ man…. what you doing watching such rubbish?! You’ve been relegated to Wally from Grant level
There was a dearth of board mixes mid last week.
Jules72 cut him some slack, the director did Suburra, the Gomorrah TV series and ZeroZeroZero so it had potential…haven’t seen a good review yet though.
Nomadland. A brilliant thought-provoking film that left me quite emotional at the end. 9/10
Dubman Fern and Bob’s confessional conversation about coping with loss and grief was really emotional
alistair The campfire near the end really got me as well
alistair the Bob-guy is playing himself, and the story about his son is true. Most of the nomads in the film are real nomads, and real people.
Homegrove yes, I read that in Mark Kermode’s review. It gives it a natural authenticity.doesn’t it. So many emotional truthful scenes. The conversation with her sister is another lovely vignette. I will watch it again.
Kermode was saying it’s out at the flicks in a few weeks in the UK. May go and watch it. The cinematography was quite special.
Yeah, really did not understand Mank took the Oscar for the cinematography over Nomadland.
Homegrove Mank took the Oscar for the cinematography
Could be a Fincher lifetime achievement award given he might stick to shows and production moving forward.
Saint Maud - 3 religious nutjobs out of 10. Not scary, not shocking, not disturbing, not worth the 84 minute investment of time.
vinnyt77 a very generous 3 there. Absolute shite that film
Watched Nomadland last night - McDormand is excellent - pacing and cinematography were superb - seems like a very grim life to a consumer monkey like myself. 8/10
vinnyt77 the end scene on the beach is possibly the worst thing I have ever witnessed in a supposedly serious film
Along_the_Wire Blates should have watched Nomadland instead. Will rectify this evening…
