Homegrove yes, I read that in Mark Kermode’s review. It gives it a natural authenticity.doesn’t it. So many emotional truthful scenes. The conversation with her sister is another lovely vignette. I will watch it again.

Kermode was saying it’s out at the flicks in a few weeks in the UK. May go and watch it. The cinematography was quite special.

Watched Nomadland last night - McDormand is excellent - pacing and cinematography were superb - seems like a very grim life to a consumer monkey like myself. 8/10

alistair I mean, subjectivity and all that - but I’d argue Green Book wasn’t the strongest contender in 2018, Three Billboards was robbed in 2017, there were a few films in 2015 I’d have picked ahead of Spotlight, and whilst I enjoyed Birdman, I thought Whiplash was an unlucky loser in 2014.
