Road racing season kicks off on Sunday with the UAE Tour. Fuck human rights!

It’s pretty much every week til the end of September from then. Living the dream

I know you Benson are roadies but there is a few Mtbers on here. I just fancy getting away for a few days in the summer.

Dubbers. Have a look at the MTB trails in the Galloway Forests.

We only did the family friendly ones but there are loads of hard-core ones too.

We spoke to some proper MTB enthusiasts and they said was ace.

Stunning part of the world too

Thanks mate. I did look at some up in the Lake District but it’s so far away from me. Snowdonia is a lot closer.

Dubman Nope but I’ve done many trail centres there.

Coed y Brenin - massive trail centre with some epic rides
        Penmancho Trail
        Marin Trail
Llandegla - but further away but awesome

Thanks bud. They all sound decent. I was thinking of bike park Wales as well but I’d prefer something a lot more quiet if possible.

Dubman Do they have a Bike park Wales in snowdonia as well? I know they have one down near Newport

              Hursty
I wouldn’t know. I was just looking online yesterday for MTB mini breaks and Snowdonia popped up. I do keep hearing about BP Wales but didn’t know where it actually is.

              Good point.

Same reason I laughed at the Mrs for suggesting IoW to be honest 🤣

I’ve been to the IOW many times when I was a lad. Apart from the weather Scotland would be a better option although I’ve never been.

                The Isle of Wight?

The Isle of Shite more like.

                Oi oi!

You never heard judith chalmers talk like that on her old holiday shows…

My winter bike has been fucked - the hub has gone on the rear wheel - got that booked in and fixed, but it took weeks. Got it back, put it in the bike and went out on it, but realised there’s an issue with the chain and cassette (both worn). Went to book that in and couldn’t find anywhere that would do it for at least a month.

I tackled the bastard at lunchtime and I’ve only gone and fucking done it myself. I even had to remove a chain link with a specific tool I didn’t even know I had to be able to attach the speed link. I feel like some kind of god and I’ve saved myself £50 in the process.

                I’m so diabolically non-mechanical. It’s a miracle.

I put a new oval chainring on my bike last weekend and was thinking I was going to balls it up seeing as I haven’t got any torque wrenches. It was well easy. I’m a bit like you as I’m not that mechanical.
My next project will be putting more pawls in my freehub for better engagement.

I’m in the market for a new bike. The rest of the family have Cannondale bikes while I still have the wankiest hybrid cart horse known to man, used to carry the kids around on when they were toddlers. I don’t want to be a mamil as, like grant and Benson, they tend to be utter wankers. But I do want something I can feel comfortable riding long distances around the Purbecks on (on and off road). Any thoughts from the enthusiasts? Notwithstanding I’ve now alienated Grant and Bens by calling them wankers.
